Bookings are best made as soon as possible to secure a place however we usually begin making the dress 3 months prior to the wedding date with it completed 2 weeks before.

For the most part, bridal sales staff are extremely experienced and are trained in which shapes work with different body types.
They will assess your body type along with your wishlist and find styles which they feel will work with you. It is always a good idea to try on something other than what you had in mind as they may just find you your dream gown. At the very least you can see styles on and put them in the NO pile.
At the end of the day the choice is yours and definitely only comit to a gown you are truly happy with.

This is embarrassing but how am I meant to go to the toilet in a mermaid wedding dress?
My dream dress is a super fitted mermaid wedding gown - but without sounding crass - how does one pee in a dress like this? I've seen ones with a lace up back - but that seems like it would take ages to undo and do back up. I've heard of other brides simply not going for the whole night! Not keen on that idea.

this is a question which has plagued brides for decades. I have seen weeding gowns altered to include side zips and other sorts of solutions but usually these end up in disaster
The best way to go to the toilet is by taking your dress off. This is where your bride tribe comes into the picture. Make sure they are available to carefully unzip/unbutton you so you can step out of your dress and they can zip you up again when you are ready.
Also ask your wedding venue if you can have a private room that you can leave a robe in for just this purpose.
As they say in the classics "fashion wasn't meant to be easy"

Do wedding dresses have to be white?

Traditionally wedding gowns have been white or ivory but lately there has been a trend towards adding some colour.
Your wedding gown should reflect your personality so if you feel that you would like a coloured gown or adding a splash of colour to white or ivory then the choice is completely up to you. You have to feel fantastic in your gown so go with whatever makes you feel good and dont be locked into convention if that is not you.
As colour can sometimes be difficult to find off the rack, you may want to consider a custom made gown which makes the choices unlimited. At Kay Elizabeth we specialise in custom made gowns which take your personality into account so give us a call.
