Over the years, the business has grown from a boutique catering and events company to a multi-faceted food and entertaining business. The group’s portfolio includes exclusive private event management, major event catering, retail and hospitality consultancy, restaurant, café and venue management and e-commerce. From 2019 after feeding Melbourne for more than 50 years the iconic Peter Rowland experience is now also available in Sydney.

The reception at Rippon Lea was generally coordinated well, and the food was great! However it was tricky with the event coordinator being changed 3 times between the time of the booking and the wedding, and as a result some minor instructions were not passed onto the relevant staff. We would have also preferred a bit more transparency upfront about the potential costs - some things we found out several months after we had confirmed the booking.

How many canapes should you serve during cocktail hour at a wedding?

Peter Rowland

If the canapes are to be served during pre-dinner drinks on arrival, prior to guests sitting down for three course meal, we suggest approximately 3 or 4 canapes for a half hour period or 6 to 8 canapes for a one hour duration. You'd want to mix these up with a selection of hot and cold items as well as a variety of ingredients including seafood, beef, vegetarian, chicken and vegetarian for example.
