How does the bride and groom leave the reception? Do we need to hire a car to pick us up after the event or have someone else drive us home, or just Uber it??

This is what you call a getaway " generally it's either provided by the venue or of course we offer it at 50% off when wedding cars are booked in with us !! In my opinion I suggest to book a car through yourwedding car company as it leaves that extra touch to your special day.
