Let me capture the true essence of your special occasion with a stunning custom cake, designed together, made with love. Coeliec safe cakes also available.

Welcome to Cakes by Bre Parsons.

I’m Bre, a classically trained pastry chef, with over seven years’ experience working with some of the best in the industry. It is my wish to provide you with the cake of your dreams, be it for your wedding, birthday, baby shower or other magical celebration.

I only use the finest ingredients, including Callebaut chocolate. I am also able to offer dessert grazing-table selections including macarons, fondant sugar cookies, cupcakes, hand-made donuts, dessert glasses, tarts and other options I would be thrilled to discuss with you.

For tastings I offer tasting boxes, this gives you and your partner more time to work through the flavours and to decide what flavour is best for your big day! The box includes 6 flavours of cake of your choice and two fondant sugar cookies.

Pick-up or delivery is available.

I would love the opportunity to meet with and help you plan a cake which you and your guests will always remember.

Hi everyone, my name is Bre. I found a passion for baking at a very young age and with some hard work I was lucky enough to have it become my career. I've worked with some of the best pastry chefs in the industry in places like the Shangri-La Hotel and the Relais accredited La Renaissance Patisserie. I absolutely adore creating cakes, it brings me so much joy and all I want in life is to spark that same joy in my clients with a special cake for their special day.

FAQ

Are your cakes made from scratch or from pre-mixes?

All of my cakes are made from scratch to order with the best ingredients I can get my hands on. Coming up with flavours and baking your cake is actually one of my favourite parts of the process!

Do you deliver?

I sure do deliver! It's a good option to ensure your cake arrives safe and sound. Also if you're after flowers for your cake and I'm using your florist, I will have to deliver so I'm able to prepare and place the flowers on the cake. Delivery fee is dependent on the venue location.

Do you do gluten free cakes?

Yes! I pride myself on being coeliac aware as my younger sister suffers from the disease. I strive to make delicious tasting cakes that you couldn't tell the difference from a normal cake. All new ingredients are used to ensure there is no risk of cross contamination, I also use all separate tools such as sives and pastry bruses that tend to trap flour particles.

Do you arrange florals or do I?

I arrange florals with my florist as I'm able to ensure that I have enough flowers and that they're of the best quality for your cake. It's a risk using another florist I'm not used to working with as they may not leave me enough flowers or they may forget to leave them at all. Florals are all taped , wired and placed on the cake in my kitchen which means I require them the morning of to finish the cake.

Do you do fondant covered cakes?

I am able to do round fondant cakes and fondant decorations but unfortunately I'm not able to do square fondant cakes as that takes a high level of expertise and quite a lot of experice that I don't have in fondant. Ganache and buttercream beauties are my general medium I prefer to work with.

Bre created an absolutely stunning cake for our wedding! Not only did it look incredible and suited the look and feel of our reception venue. But it also tasted amazing, and has honestly become my new favourite cake flavour (I didn't think anything could be better than carrot cake, but Bre managed to top that off). Bre was also very easy to consult when coming up with ideas for the perfect cake, and she was very helpful when we were reaching a decision for a cake that would suit our preferences and ideas. Her craftsmanship and expertise truly showed throughout the whole process and especially with the end result. We can't recommend her enough!

You will not find a more passionate, perfectionist, caring, professional, dedicated pastry chef anywhere! After previously making my birthday cake as a gift, and having tasted many of Bre's incredible creations, it was a no-brainer that we would ask Bre to make our wedding cake. The first time we saw the cake when we got to the reception I cried my eyes out - it was absolutely perfect and everything we asked for and more! It was insanely delicious and more beautiful than we could have wished - demonstrating Bre's absolute dedication in delivering the exact cake we had imagined and drawn up in the several meet-ups over tea and coffee leading up to the wedding. Bre made both my engagement party donut tower and my wedding cake. Both quite different but so tasty! We still have people talking about them! We sent her a picture of the wedding cake we wanted, she helped us choose the flavours and it she created the cake of our dreams even better than we imagined. The flavours for both the cake and donuts were on point and they both looked beautiful.

What are alternatives to wedding cake?

Cakes by Bre Parsons

Dessert tables are very popular now, where you can have mini cakes, dessert glasses, macarons, chocolates etc so people can pick and choose what they'd like to eat if you're not a big cake fan.

Also for fans of cheese having muptiple tiered wheels of cheese stacked and decorated with flowers and twine on an antipasto grazing table can be an amazing way for a couple who aren't sweet tooths to have something like looks like a cake and they can cut into but then enjoy a cheese platter after rather than cake.
