My name is Julia Handford and I absolutely love being a Marriage Celebrant! Having celebrated almost 900 weddings, the experience for me as a Celebrant just gets better and better! For 10 years now it has been my full time job and I just adore it :o)
I specialise in simple and relaxed ceremonies for chilled out couples.

How do I have my celebrant announce my pregnancy at my wedding?
I want a celebrant that can make this big announcement eloquently. Any ideas?

Great question!
I have had this a couple times and I feel like it is always best to announce it right at the very end of the ceremony, either just before you get pronounced as Husband and Wife, or after you've signed the papers and the Celebrant concludes the ceremony.
My reason for this is, it is SUCH EXCITING news and it will definitely create buzz within the crowd which can make it tricky to then continue on with the ceremony as people will cheer/ clap/ talk amongst themselves. So to leave the ceremony on a high, definitely announce it at the end and then you can pretty much start kissing and hugging everyone straight away!

I want an outside wedding... in November... in Australia. How can I keep everyone cool?
The weather is expected to be very hot but we don't want to sacrifice our dream. We'd love to have our wedding outside and under the stars but we don't want even sweating off their makeup and hating the day.

Sooooo many ways!
Firstly, choose a Celebrant that you feel super comfortable with as it is a very intimate experience and you want to really enjoy the process.
Secondly, write surprise wedding vows! Listening to gorgeous wedding vows that you've never heard before will really keep you in the moment and make the elopement so so special.
Thirdly, if possible do it somewhere remote/and or scenic. The beauty of elopements are that you don't need to choose a place where guests can safely and easily commute to. Why not share your vows on a mountain top, or in the forest or snuggled up on your balcony. Choose somewhere that will make you feel happy as you don't need to worry about anyone else!
And lastly, marry the right person! haha :) It will make your elopement special no matter what!
