FAQ

Choosing the right celebrant is a very personal decision for most couples.  For different reasons couples could choose one celebrant over another eg: cost, location to venue, recommendations from friends, wedding experience, and personal interaction. It is always a good idea to at least have a chat to your celebrant over the phone or face to face before choosing them for your wedding day.

The paperwork required is the “Notice of Intended Marriage” (NOIM). This document needs to be with the Celebrant 1 calendar month before your wedding day eg: if you are getting married on 7th June 2019 then you need to have your NOIM signed by your celebrant no later than 7th May 2019 and you can do this up to 18 months in advance. Earlier is always the best choice for both you and the celebrant.

Documents required to support the NIOM are:

  • Birth Certificates
  • and/or Passports
  • evidence of divorce or death of spouse, if applicable.
  • Separate Photo identification ie: drivers licence, identity card is also required if you do not use passports.

Yes, in certain circumstances. You need to do this through an application to the Local Court for approval so your celebrant can marry you. They have specific guidelines governing their decisions, so approval is not automatic.

Couples are allowed to get married anywhere in Australia.

  • a chapel
  • wedding venues
  • your home
  • a restaurant
  • a park

The options are only as good as your imagination.

Couples have been married in Hot Air Balloons. I personally have married a couple in Jenolan Caves, and have been fortunate to perform a Renewal of Vows on the Sydney Harbour Bridge (formerly Bridge Climb).

Yes, always prepared to go wherever your wedding is.

I encourage couples to have input and making your ceremony unique by.…

  • have a go at writing your vows to one another
  • include a poem or reading
  • tell your ‘love story’
  • dancing down the aisle

With my experience I will help you be as creative as you want to be.  Helping you every step of the way to create/design your ceremony so you will have a ceremony to remember.  I have lots of sample ceremonies for you to choose from, mixing and matching them will give you a great start to a final ceremony you will love on the day.

A rehearsal is a personal choice. Once we work on your ceremony together there is not a lot left to the imagination, everything is scripted so in 9 out of 10 cases a rehearsal is not required. What I do encourage is for the girls to get together with the songs that have been chosen and just work out the timing to walk in to, the rest will fall into place, as we have planned.

I usually arrive about 20 minutes before the ceremony is due to commence so I can set up, organise the groom and the groomsmen, and also speak with your family and friends that are awaiting the bride’s arrival.

Yes. Your wedding is registered with the Department of Births, Deaths and Marriages in the State that the wedding takes place. If married by a Marriage Celebrant who has been approved by the Australian Government, you will never have any issues with your marriage.

You brought joy to our day, warmth to our lives and happiness to our hearts. You made me (the bride) relax and Jeff (the groom) stop shaking. Your company made our day magic, thank you so much for everything.
