My name is Kate Ryan and I am an Authorised Marriage Celebrant based in the Adelaide Hills, yet well acquainted with travelling all over Australia for the love of this job.
I have been lucky enough to have been marrying gorgeous couples across the country for the last 10 years, and I love what I do. My first ceremony was my sister's, and I was so honoured to be able to help create a really special day for her and her husband, since then, have been saying YES, to witnessing beautiful couples saying yes all over the country
My approach is completely flexible, and all about you – I want to help you create a beautiful memory, in one of your most important days together. Apart from the important legal stuff, everything else is up to you.

After my sister & brother in law asked me to marry them, I went through the process to get my qualification....and to my surprise, I LOVED being part of such a special day, and doing all that I could to shape a personal & unforgettable ceremony, for them, and now many more since. I am honoured by every couple who ask me to be part of their wedding ceremony, and can't wait to be part of many more amazing ceremonies across the country. Love what you do, and do what you love!

Often, couples focus on booking the venue, the photographer, and sorting the dress as the first priorities, and then can leave the formal ceremony planning later in the process.
Legally, you are required to provide a formal month's notice, in the form of a Notice Of Intent to Marry.
It's important to get this properly documented before you proceed with the wedding.

YES!!! This is also really exciting! Most people believe that you have to stick to a traditional script for a ceremony, but the truth of it is, that usually only about 20% of a ceremony that you see, is the legally required stuff. I love helping people create a ceremony away from the traditional path, and can talk to you about tailoring a ceremony, perfect for the two of you!
Great! I have a suitcase, and LOVE to travel all over Australia to marry couples! I often conduct ceremonies in Alice Springs, Brisbane and Perth, and and open to going anywhere you need me. I incorporate the travel expenses into my fees, but can often offer a great rate, as I have friends and family all over the country that I can stay with, to make it that little bit more affordable for you. As long as we're in Australian air, water or on the land, I can be there for you. Let's talk about your dates and special spot soon, to secure your date.
NO WAY! I always consult with couples on this. You're paying a fortune for an amazing photographer, and a beautifully coordinated wedding party, the last thing you need, is me rocking up and looking like one of your bridesmaids! I have loads of options, and love the consultation process with couples, to make sure I fit in with your expectations and the scene.
Yes! As there are only 52 weekends a year, there are limited dates that can impact fee structures for most celebrants. Mid-week weddings can be up to about 30% cheaper across most services associated with weddings. These are becoming more and more popular, and I'd love to talk to you about your date, and locking in a Monday to Friday wedding.
Not quite, but nearly. We need 2 qualifying witnesses to the wedding, in addition to myself. So there will always be 5 of us. But we can do that at a dinner table, on a picnic blanket, at the beach, before you bungee jump together, or in your dining room at home, having a cheese platter! The scene and how we do it is open to your imagination, as long as we have the important legal requirements covered, we can make it as low-key and intimate as you like.
