OVERVIEW

A young, fun male celebrant in Brisbane seems hard to find - so I decided to become one!

Getting you hitched is what I do best and we will work together to take the stress out of your day and make it perfect.

Whatever your plans for the your day - let's get together and chat and see if we fit. I'll even shout a drink or two ;)

Together we shape your ceremony from start to finish, we practice until perfect and then I take care of the rest.

I offer three packages ranging from the simple basics (124 words is all you need!) through to a fully customised ceremony where we get to have real fun!

I love what I do. Marrying people is something I do because it gives me great joy - it's not a job. I have one of those also. I think wedding should be fun and unique to you.

Chris was a big part of our special elopement. He made the process easy and his energy was calming and fun. Our ceremony was small but Chris ensured it felt just as special as a big ceremony. He allowed us to shine and included such important parts of our relationship in his speech. The atmosphere was created and maintained full of love and laughter, it was such a magical ceremony and everything we could have asked for.. all thanks to Chris. We can't recommend Chris enough! Not only did he help us navigate all the paperwork and legal side of the wedding but we also had fun doing it. Over a couple of casual meet ups we got to know each other, which allowed Chris to do a personal, funny and wonderfully memorable ceremony. I had family from home asking how long we had known each other because of how creative and intimate the ceremony was. If you are looking for a heartfelt ceremony with equal parts laughs as tears (joyous not sad), then Chris will be a wonderful celebrant for you! Planning a wedding is extremely daunting. Google and blogs are helpful, but to have someone who lives and breathes weddings everyday is priceless. Chris has been pivotal to the success of our wedding day, he was able to share ideas and experiences to help shape our ceremony and the whole day to truely reflect our relationship and personality. The ceremony was funny, light-hearted and full of personality which is exactly what we asked for…however Chris was also able to balance humour and more touching moments. Chris’ supportive hand on my shoulder as I struggled through tears sums up our experience perfectly. I would highly recommend having Chris on your wedding team!!

How much should I expect to pay for a celebrant?

And is it cheaper to go for a religious officiant? I'm not fussed about the cost just want to know what to budget for. :)

There is a level of self-serving irony is giving you advice on pricing for celebrants which is not lost on me right now as I do this! ;)

To set the scene I offer two piece of advice

1) You get what you pay for - but don't be afraid to negotiate.

2) Be clear on what you are looking for. Most of the couples I work with want something simple, easy and personalised in a few little ways. If you want something super creative or different that's cool too but be prepared to pay for it ;)

I would suggest upto $700 is a reasonble budget for keeping it simple and personalised.

Do couples usually use vow books?

I know how nervous and excited you are on your big day.

I usually have the important bits you wanted to say printed on cards that I hand to you at the opportune time and then slip them away - they usually form part of my gift to you along with cermony and certificate.

Don't be afriad to ask for this from your celebrant - trying to remember it by heart is a big task!

Any tips on writing vows?

I have no idea where to begin. Are they meant to be promises?

Vows are a deeply personal part of the ceremony.

I often suggest to my couples that the bullet point out 5-10 things they love about the other - perhaps its something thats makes you laugh, or weak at the knees and just something that defines you as a couple like a song.

We then use this is a different part of the ceremony - I find my couple think this is an easier task to do then to write vows where they feel like they have to develop promises.
