OVERVIEW

Helping to make your day memorable and unique to you

  • I have been a Registered Civil Marriage Celebrant since 2007. I offer to conduct weddings, naming ceremonies and funerals.
  • I love the celebration of weddings and like to help create unique joyful ceremonies to express each couple's own style. I am non-religious but am happy to incorporate your beliefs if you want. I offer same-sex weddings. My hope is that your day is the best you could imagine, and am happy to help you make that possible.
  • I speak English, French and Spanish and so am happy to conduct ceremonies bilingually.
  • Let's start planning the most magical day of your life.

FAQ

I live in Tugun on the Southern Gold Coast, and am happy to travel up the Gold Coast towards Brisbane and down into Northern New South Wales. Depending on distance, I may add an extra travel fee, which we can discuss.

My fee includes everything you need from a Celebrant. I will meet with you, guide you through designing your ceremony, rehearse it, and conduct your wedding. I have a good PA system.

I will present you with a Presentation Certificate at the wedding, which is evidence of your legal marriage. You will be registered with the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages in your State.

However, if you wish to, you can also apply for an Official Certificate, which is prefered by some offices such as Immigration. I can no longer make your application for you, so you do that after the wedding yourselves. I can help you with that. The current fee for this is about $50.

I have done 58 weddings since 2007. I have also performed 3 funerals and 3 naming ceremonies.

I am completely happy to perform same-sex weddings. I have a booking at the moment for one.

I am not religious although I have followed Yoga, Taoism and other philosophies for decades. I enjoy the variety of customs and beliefs, so I will accommodate whichever traditions you find most meaningful.

I have performed casual beach weddings, smart church weddings, a festival wedding, a gangster wedding, and I was married in a tree! (see if you find this picture in my gallery)...

Andy is a very nice and great guy. He made our ceremony truly special and took into consideration our wishes. He made it very personal and gave us a lot of opportunity to give our personal input.

Do I need to register my wedding if I got married in a church?

This might seem like a dumb question but we were married in a church last year and got our marriage certificate from the priest - do I need to register this or is it automatically registered? Thanks

Andy Kidd - Civil Celebrant

No - The priest should have sumitted your official marriage certificate to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages where it is lodged.

Who can be our witnesses if we don't know anyone in Australia?

Andy Kidd - Civil Celebrant

The law requires that 2 people over 18 witness your wedding certificate, who are swearing that they heard you say your legal vows and the Celebrant's Monitum (which is a paragraph we have to say out loud)..... but the witnesses can be anyone. I have had a couple ask me to bring witnesses for this purpose.

I am happy to help if I am in the right area for you - Gold Coast/Northern NSW.

       yours, Andy Kidd
