OVERVIEW

Today is your day; let me make it special and memorable to you forever

My name is Lee Watts and I am a marriage celebrant.

I have always been passionate about the local community from my first job teaching children to swim, to managing the Scone Neighbourhood Centre and serving for more than 12 years on Council.

Now, as a celebrant I feel honoured to share in so many important occasions in people’s lives from marriages to naming ceremonies and funerals.

Every ceremony is different and I enjoy tailoring each one to be the special moment people have in mind.

As a professional Marriage Celebrant, it is my responsibility to help you create a unique ceremony which reflects your individual personalities, values and your love and commitment to each other. I will ensure that your wedding day is exciting and memorable.

About

I am a down to earth person who wants to work with you to make your day special and memorable to you forever. I will listen to you both and create a ceremony which reflects your individual personalities, values and your love and commitment to each other. FAQ

Which ever side you would like to.

The tradition actually stems from the old days of "marriage by capture", when the groom needed to leave his right hand (his fighting hand) -- which he used to hold his sword -- free in the event that he should need to defend his bride from other suitors who may try to wisk her off at the last minute.

In Christian ceremonies, the bride's family sits on the left, the groom's on the right. Likewise, the bride stands at the left at the altar while the groom stands to her right. In a Jewish ceremony, it's the opposite; the bride and her family are on the right, the groom and his are on the left.

As your Celebrant is my responsibility to complete all legal paperwork and after your ceremony I will send to Births, Deaths and Marriages.

You will need to apply to the Birth Deaths and Marriages for your wedding certificate, this will enable you to change your nname on any documents you require changes.

At our first meeting I will email or inform you of a list of documents you will need so that we can complete your identification.

You will need to provide as ID, birth certificates or passports and a drivers licence with your curret address.

If one or both of the parties has been married, a copy of  divorce papers and in the case one or both parties is a widow or widower, death certificates.

It is entirely up to the couple but I would recommend a rehearsal if there is a wedding party.

At the rehearsal the day before if it is suitable or at a date agreed with the couple and myself.

At the rehearsal we will trial run -

•         Placement of men prior to the wedding starting

·         The entrance

•         Formation of the group prior to commencing

•         Location of readers and how they  move up to the front

•         where the celebrant stands for the commencement of the ceremony

·         Where the bride and groom should be standing during each item

·         How to place the rings for the best photo shot

·         Where the table and Chairs for signing will be

·         Process after the signing

As your Celebrant I am available anytime to discuss any issue or querie. Once I have received your booking you will both have access to my mobile and email.

Feel free to contact me to discuss anything that is on your mind about your upcoming wedding.

Lee was very professional, lovely, thorough and willing to work with us for an unorthodox ceremony. We have a very unusual family from many backgrounds and it was wonderful working with Lee as she made sure everyone was included. Lee was just fantastic and made a huge journey very simple and enjoyable.

Does the marrying couple sign three commemorative certificates as well as the official certificate of marriage, or two?

Lee Watts Celebrant

You, your husband and two witnesses sign three documents after the ceremony. Two official marriage certificates, one of which I have in a bound book and it remains with the Celebrant the other is sent to the Department of Births Deaths and Marriages and the third is the Commemorative Certificate which is yours to keep and with you for your photo after the ceremony.
