The simplest ceremony is usually called 'The Legals' and contains the following elements:

• Welcome - It's always polite to welcome guests - unless you're eloping and we can leave that part out
• The Monitum – that’s a legal word virtually advising that I have the authority to marry you both and that you are getting married voluntarily, so no guns visible please!
• The legal Vows – I (name) take You (name) to be my lawful wedded Spouse/Husband/Wife. We can also add the personal vows to this or separate to this.

Note: Without the Monitum and Legal vows – your marriage may not be legal in Australia.

A simple ceremony can take about 20 minutes

The charge for my celebrant service is not excessive compared with other services you are hiring, such as catering, photographer, videographer etc. I do not advertise the costing here because it changes depending on the type of ceremony you want. I do have set prices for different regions of the central/north coast which I will discuss with you at our first obligation free meeting. Prices also change yearly and I’m too busy doing what I love to keep updating the site.

Simple answer – because the government likes forms!

Correct answer - because the information contained on the forms ensures that both parties are legally entitled to marry each other.

On a side note a hundred years from now when your grandchildren and great grandchildren are researching their family tree they can locate you better.
