My background is as a nurse in both the private & public sector, with most of that time spent on my feet in direct contact with patients. My experiences behind a desk weren't as exhausting but were, for me, far less life affirming. I value the intimacy & privilege of learning a person's story & you can't achieve that when you're swamped with writing blanket policies behind a desk.
