Should begin ASAP or does it not matter as long as it's a month prior to the wedding?
I know how important a celebrant is, but how much is too much?
One celebrant I like charges $1200, but I know a lot of celebrants charge half of that. Why is there such a difference? Is it comparable to music in that it's a "taste" thing? Or a talent thing? It's not like I can "taste test" like a cake or listen to a song.. it's hard to justify because by the time you get the service, you've LONG paid and if you're disappointed it's too late! Advice please!

The important words that you have spoken are "One Celebrant I like". You really need to meet with a few different Celebrants and choose one who will most importantly, listen to you and with whom you feel instantly comfortable. It doesn't matter what she/he charges,it's whether you feel that she/he is "the right one for you". You can "taste test" a Celebrant by talking to people with whom she/he has worked. Look at her/his website, but most importantly, meet her/him to give her/him the opportunity to get to know you and for you to get to know her/him.

You don't have to worry about filing your marriage documents as your Celebrant files them for you. In my case, I always file the application to BDM to have them send your Marriage Certificate to you after your Marriage as this saves you the problem of having to supply all identification documents. There is no need to do so as I have already done this in the process of marrying you. Hope this makes things a little clearer.
