I want to work with relaxed couples who like a bit of fun with their romance. They want to create a ceremony full of laughs, a few tears, absolutely no cliches AND a vibe that is all about them. I create ceremonies that reflect who you truly are and deliver them in a way that make your guests wonder how long we've been friends. I ask all the right questions to find out what you want and how you want it to go down. You'll never hear me say the same thing twice unless it's "...and now you may kiss!"
I am reliable, light-hearted, easy going and have a boatload of advice and experience to offer if you want it. You should know - I secretly wish I were Irish and I suddenly start swearing profusely whenever I’m in the company of Canadians!!! This will only be a problem if you're from Canada and getting married on St Paddy's Day.
About
It took me a few false starts before I landed my dream job as a marriage celebrant. I tried to be a teacher but my writing was messy and I still can't do long division. I would have been a lawyer but power suits don't suit me and arguing is not a talent I can claim. I dreamed of being a photographer but actually I really just enjoy gazing at beautiful art. I'm still working on becoming an author, I'll let you know when I hit the big time.

I think these days guests are pretty understanding. I tell them about the unplugged request before the ceremony starts and use it as an opportunity to introuduce the photographer and just explain that they are a bunch of good looking people and the couple want to see their beautiful faces in their pics instead of a sea of iphones. I sometimes add that the couple just want their loved ones to be in the moment with them and there will be plenty of opportunities after to take pics of the gorgeous couple.

I think it depends on the season - with summer storms or april showers it might be a good idea and just give you that peace of mind. But it is so much easier these days with the radar and BOM app to predict whether we can risk it. One of the best stormy weddings I did was under a big tree, the rain started just as they kissed and then the photographer got amazing shots of the crowd putting up umbrellas and everyone running for cover. Then we signed the certificates undercover and everyone was laughing and relaxed and the party began.
