OVERVIEW

Brisbane based Celebrant. Serving professionalism with pride and passion.

Hello!

A wedding ceremony is steeped in tradition and like civilisation, ceremonies continue to evolve; meaning these days anything goes.  One aspect that remains the same is that marriages can only be solemnised by a person legally appointed to do so, i.e. in Australia - a priest or a civil celebrant.  Finding your perfect celebrant should not be difficult, though some couples do not know where to begin.  Hopefully, the information below will point you in the right direction.

Briefly, my story begins in 2008 when I was appointed by the Commonwealth. Since this time I have been assisting people from all walks of life celebrate milestones that are important to them.  I have celebrated many wonderful occasions; making countless new friends along the way.  Love is my inspiration. The love shared between two people, the love shared between parents and their new born, the love created by a network of friends and family, and the rewards are immeasurable.  When I am not working, I love to read, horse ride or simply relax with my young family.

A wedding ceremony is your love story.  In life, we are only limited by our imaginations. Together with my help, your ideas and our imaginatiions we will create an amazing start to the next chapter of your love story!

Nancy was excellent as our celebrant. Included in our package with Clear Mountain Lodge, we had several meetings prior to the wedding, and she gave us a clear timeline of events and deadlines in order to keep us on track. She allowed us to really craft a ceremony that reflected us and our families which meant a lot to us.

Nancy is incredible!! She understood both of us and was cool calm and collected. Nanacy was helpful during the lead up to the big day, during the day and even last night while I sent crazy marriage questions!! The ceremony was beautiful. Could not recommend Nanacy enough.

Nancy was amazing with guiding Sean & I through the process. Nancy helped with all of the paperwork, vows, rehearsal, how the ceremony would flow etc. Nancy was great at communicating with us - always keeping us in the loop :) I would highly recommend Nancy to anyone looking for a great celebrant!

Should I avoid getting married on Jan 13th as it will be so busy right?

We're a same-sex couple

If Jan-13th is of special significance to you and your fiance go for it. As mentioned by Rhonda, you will have to give at least 1-month's notice to your officiant.  I'm guessing from Jan-9 onwards will be a busy time for some celebrants/ministers and even more so, the registry offices around Australia. Good luck with your planning. :)

Is it bad to have my guests sitting in the sun?

What if it's really hot? It's a feb wedding. What can I do to ensure no one faints? :/

Great question and well done for considering this important aspect to your day.  Finding a shady spot/undercover area is always best however, not always possible especially if planning a beach wedding. Make sure icey cold water is available;  set this up in an oversized ice bucket and guests will help themselves. A large pump-style bottle of 50+ sunscreen; you will be surprised how many people will thankyou for this gesture! Consider hiring parasols/a gazebo/marquee.  If your budget doesn't stretch this far, remind elederly folk to bring a folding umbrella. Hire seating for the older folk. Check out pinterest for ideas on DIY wedding hand fans. Not only do they provide breeze but can be used to shield the eyes/face from the glaring sun. Print them up with your ceremony details - what a pretty keepsake...and forever useful! There are many beautiful locations in this great land that can achieve extreme temps. Always remember, the comfort and safety of your guests is paramount, as well as your own and your attendants. Hope this helps!

Can we get married in Australia if we are not citizens?

Hi there, I am wondering if you can help me. Myself and my partner are currently residing in Canberra but we are not Australian citizens, we are English citizens, we are here on two year working visas. We are due to get married back in England in December but in order to make it 'legal' we have been advised that we have to get married officially here first. As we will be here on our own we only want something very small and personal, basically it's just to allow us to get married in the uk. Sorry if I have confused you as I appreciate it's a bit complicated but if you could let me know your thoughts it would be much appreciated xx

Hi there, thanks for your question and the short answer is, absolutely. Australia is lucky in the sense that we have many amazing locations and the climate is quite moderate all year round, making it the perfect destination for tourists to tie the knot. As mentioned below, there is a legal aspect with civil ceremonies conducted in Aus however, the most important form will be your Notice of Intended Marriage, which must be completed no later than four weeks (1 month) before your chosen day. In other words, you won't be able to ring a celebrant today and ask to be married next Saturday. You must, by law, give four weeks notice. Your celebrant can help you with this. If you're planning on tying the knot in sunny Brisbane, drop me a line. ;) Good luck!
