Making Memories Celebrant Services

Right from the start we can work together to include anything to make this a memorable and awesome event for you and your guests. This may include rituals / customs (associated with weddings), that may date back a long way and are associated with various cultures and traditions. You could also create  your own rituals. To personalise your ceremony you could include readings or poems that are especially significant to you and have family or friends presenting them. You could also include music that is meaningful to you or even go so far as a choreographed dance performed by the wedding party. I can assist you with all of this - except for the ‘dancing’ part.

The rehearsal is an opportunity to organise final logistics associated with your ceremony and is best conducted a few weeks prior to your big day. This ensures that everyone involved is familiar with their role in your awesome ceremony. It is usually a condensed version of your ceremony.  If an on-site rehearsal is not possible, a rehearsal in any space is still helpful for it allows you to act out the ceremony to find your feet and the logistics for the ceremony. The following people should attend if possible; the lovely Couple, Bridal party (bridesmaids/groomsmen), Aisle escort (bride’s or groom’s parent/s etc), People presenting a reading,  Witnesses and anyone else who is involved in the wedding ceremony. ‘Practice makes perfect’ or at least it may help alleviate some nerves. 

Before you get married, we need to complete some legal documentation. These are essentially the legal requirements, from the office of the Attorney General, that need to be fulfilled before you can get married and are deemed legally married. It is the responsibility of the Celebrant to ensure all relevant documentation is sent onto the  Birth, Deaths and Marriages registry office. The couple signs the various certificates using the name that appears on the marriage documents, not your new married name.      

I believe everyone has the entitlement to marry whomever they wish (as long as it’s legal). With our wonderful multicultural society I also support mutlicultural marriages.The recent change to the Australian Marriage Law  to acknowledge same sex unions actually inspired me to become a Celebrant.

I don’t have any restrictions on location (except for jumping out of an airplane!), however I may have to charge extra for transportation if the location is remote, interstate or overseas.
