Initially roped into MC-ing for her family’s large weddings, Antonia “Tanya” Losanno’s passion for weddings led her to become a celebrant. A Canberra-based comedian, Tanya takes writing and performing ceremonies seriously; but definitely expect a joke or two. Yes I do. I have a battery operated Chiyago system with a wireless hand held microphone. The PA operates on Bluetooth (and I also have an aux cord in case) so you can play music from a phone or ipad for your ceremony.
The microphone can be used by the Celebrant, the couple for vows and any readers. I find if everyone can hear, the better the ceremony ?
Yes I do travel as far as two and half hours out of Canberra. For this reason I don’t require you to provide accommodation as I can do the ceremony and be back home within the same day. I am flexible on this and happy to discuss with you if you need me to go that bit further.
Definitely. I have lots of vow examples I can give you, both modern and more traditional and talk you through the best length and help structure what you want to say. At the end of the day it is about keeping them from the heart. I can also print and bring vows on the day so you don’t need to worry about it.
I personalise my ceremonies by asking lots of questions and also getting you to fill out a small questionnaire answering some questions about yourselves. I also like to include information about the venue and names of witnesses and wedding party so it feels like I am working with people I have always known.
This needs to be submitted at least four weeks before the wedding and no earlier than 18 months before.
Once you receive the official marriage certificate that has been processed by Birth, Deaths and Marriages you can start undertaking the processes to change your name legally.
If required I do have a signing table and table cloth that couples are welcome to use. It is a small white cast iron one with two white chairs. If you prefer to bring your own table covering and decorations this isn’t a problem at all. Most wedding venues provide a table but this is great for people wanting to marry in parks or yards where one isn’t available.
Yes absolutely. If you don’t want to you don’t have to but I find couples that do are a bit more relaxed and in the moment on the day. It doesn’t necessarily need to be at the venue so if it isn’t part of your wedding package there is no need to include it, as it can be at a house or a park as well. If all of the wedding party can’t be there that is ok too, it is just about running through the order, where you will be standing and timing music if you want too.
