FAQ

Yes! I have my own P.A. amplifier, so every guest hears every word! I have an elegant table and chair for signing marriage documents. I also have a red carpet you are welcome to use (8 metres long) and lawn signs to direct guests to your garden wedding!

As many meetings as necessary can be available to work with you to get it right!

These are often prompted by significant milestones – anniversary, birthdays, a brush with a major illness or accident, or perhaps wanting to have a different wedding to the original.

The good news is, there are far fewer rules and dos and don’ts about vow renewal than almost any other kind of ritual.
Whatever prompts the occasion, I can help you plan to reaffirm your vows, and/or make additional promises in a special ceremony tailored to suite you.

It can be as simple as the two of you alone in a beautiful setting reciting vows you have written, or a large affair with hundreds of guests, or anywhere in between.
It can be as simple or complex as you wish it to be - so let me help you create the perfect ceremony.

Margaret was a joy to deal with. She created a ceremony that was simple yet meaningful, and she personalised it to suit us. Margaret provided a rehearsal at her property as our wedding was out of town. All paperwork was taken care of and we now have a lovely printed copy of our ceremony.

Margaret was really good. She was happy to do facilitate what we wanted. She was easy to get in contact and we emailed her quite a bit leading up to the day. No complaints at all, she was really really good!

My partner won't be wearing a wedding ring. Does this make the "ring exchange" part of the ceremony seem awkward?

Hello, My partner won't be wearing a wedding ring. Does this make the "ring exchange" part of the ceremony seem awkward?

Margaret Murray Celebrant

No, not at all.   Exchanging rings is not a compulsory part of the marriiage ceremony.  It is certainly customary, but  not compulsory. So, in your case, it could be "giving of a ring" instead of "exchanging rings".  In my experience with marriage ceremonies for country couples, some couples don't have rings at all; especially where their occupations make wearing rings  dangerous.  So, instead they exchange gifts, which are often a watch and bracelet, or neck chains.   Your celebrant will certainly be able to make this part of your ceremony flow easily.  Best Wishes.,

Can I get married in a church if Im not religious?

Im worried about the weather so Im looking for an indoor ceremony venue. Theres a church right next door to my mum's house so I thought I might have it there. But Im not religious. Can I have a civil ceremony in a church??

Margaret Murray Celebrant

There are many non-demoninational churches in use for hire as venues for weddings, funerals etc. But it varies. It would be best to make contact with the care-takers of your particular church building to check if it is available for a Civil Celebrant wedding. My best wishes to you both..

Help! I need vows help, I honestly have no idea what to say! I love her. What else should I say?

I asked my friends and they said it'd come to me. It hasn't. I am freaking out!!!

Margaret Murray Celebrant

Firstly relax! and take your time. Keep in mind that vows are promises you are making to each other for a life-time, so things like "I will always love you, care for you", etc. are a great place to start. Hopefully your Celebrant will have given you a resource book with ideas, or you can Google wedding vows. In your ceremony, once you have stated your legal vows, there are no restrictions around what you can say. I have had everything from "I promise to take the garbage out, I promise to make your coffee every morning" to" I adore you and will love and tenderly care for you for all of my days". If you email me I will be happy to send you examples which may inspire you. My very best wishes to you both.
