OVERVIEW

I am a full time Celebrant,registered with the Attorney Generals Department performing Marriages in Australia. My base is Melbourne.I support same sex marriage.

Your Wedding Day is one of the most memorable days of your life.

I have lobbied, marched and supported same-sex marriage, or as I call it "marriage" for several years, as I truly do believe love is love, no matter your gender.

This is a day to celebrate your love and commitment with family and friends by your side; to witness what you have discovered in each other that has made this day come true.

I want to be a part of that day with you; I want to take away any stresses that you may have bringing this day together, so that you can both enjoy the moment.

Let me add a balance of Formality, Humor and my Personality to ensure your Ceremony reflects your vision- for that perfect day.

As of January 2017, I achieved my goal of becoming a full-time Celebrant, therefore allowing myself so much more time to spend on my passion of Weddings and celebrations!

As part of my commitment as your Celebrant I bring for you:

I write your Ceremony, just for you, based on your story.
Some examples of Wedding Vows to help you get started.
The order of a Traditional Ceremony to help with some ideas.
As many e-mails and phone calls you require.
A “dress rehearsal” closer to the day.
A Legal Wedding Certificate in Calligraphy.
A professional PA system.
A booklet with your wording and memories.
First Aid and Insurance.
If required, a table for signing.
I will be there on the day one hour prior to your Ceremony; to ensure everything is exactly as you want it.
And finally; All your legal paperwork sent to Births Deaths & Marriages within 14 days.

Jo was so easy to deal with, making the whole process relaxed. Working from a distance, she was well organised to ensure everything was in line for the day. She was happy to run with whatever style ceremony we wanted and delivered with flourish!

A huge thank you to Jo for coming to our rescue after our original celebrant was no longer able to officiate our ceremony. Jo picked up the phone once she received our enquiry, a small thing to do, but it made her stand out and from then on, we knew she was the perfect celebrant for us. No question went unanswered and Jo ensured that everything ran smoothly on the day. If I'm not taking his name, can we ask the celebrant to not say 'mr and mrs (husbands last name)?

Hello Bride,

Great question!

There is absolutely no legal requirement for your Celebrant to announce you as Mr and Mrs.

You can be announced as "the happy couple" "the newlyweds" or even "your first names, now officially married"

Ask your Celebrant, they will have some great suggestions for you.

Do you ask people to give toasts or is it spontaneous... do you warn people at all?

Hello Mon,

My thoughts on this after being MC at weddings, would definately be to ask the people.

There are a few reasons for this.

You want people to be prepared, and not nervous. Always good to ensure they are happy speaking in front of people, you don't want them to be nervous throughtout your Ceremony and Reception until they speak, and miss the moment.

You also want to choose people who perhaps didn't have a role in you Ceremony, yet would be honoured to speak at your Reception.

You want people who will be respectful and understand your wishes, and keep to a time frame.

Our celebrant gave us a brochure called "happily ever before and after"?

They explained why which is fine, but this brochure is really terrible haha, why is this still a thing?!

Hi there, glad you understand why we as Celebrants are obligated under The Attorney Generals Department to give every couple a copy of this brochure.It is still a thing, as it has some useful information that a lot of couples ask, regarding the procedures of getting married, and the structure of "what happens next"...it also gives you some great resouses.
