Can we have a rehearsal?

I will be available for a rehearsal with you and your bridal party in the week leading up to your wedding to ensure that each person understands what they are required to do on the wedding day. A rehearsal is included in my fee.

Congratulations on your engagement, and welcome to the exciting world of wedding planning! So, where do you start with when it comes to planning your ceremony?

I am an Adelaide-based Marriage Celebrant. I would love to get to know you and create a wedding ceremony that is not at all boring (laid-back, fun, light, entertaining, engaging…) and is a true reflection of your relationship. I want to capture your love, your quirks, and all those little things that make you who you are as a couple, in a ceremony that will be remembered for all the right reasons.

A family discussion around the dinner table about 7 years ago was when my lightbulb moment occurred, and I knew that becoming a Celebrant was what I wanted to do. I have always loved writing, have never been shy in front of a crowd, and who doesn’t love weddings?! 500+ weddings later and I still love what I do! How much do you charge?

My service fees vary depending on the time of year and day of the week (peak season/off-peak, weekdays, weekends, public holidays), and the location of your wedding ceremony.

What is included in your package?

My comprehensive wedding ceremony package includes:

A free, no obligation consultation with me to discuss your requirements for your big day. We can chat on the phone, via Skype, or over a coffee or wine!
A minimum of 2 further meetings to catch up, discuss and plan your wedding ceremony in detail and complete the required paperwork.
A copy of my ceremony planning resource magazine containing tips, tricks, resources and guides to make your ceremony personalised and engaging.
Supply, preparation and lodgement of all legal documents to register your marriage
Creation of a ceremony that reflects you and your relationship, and meets your requirements for your wedding day.
A ceremony rehearsal at your wedding venue or alternate location with you and your bridal party.
Solemnisation of your marriage (performance of your legal wedding ceremony).
Use of my high quality, portable, wireless sound system that can accommodate MP3, USB, AUX and Bluetooth for your ceremony music, and wireless, hand-held microphones to ensure everyone can hear your ceremony!
Travel to and from your ceremony venue and other meetings.
Couple’s Marriage Certificate presented on your wedding day.
Unlimited telephone and email communication up until your ceremony date, and assistance to guide you through the entire planning process.
Assistance in applying for you Official Marriage Certificate following your ceremony.

And plenty of smiles and laughs (and coffees) with me along the way!

Are your ceremonies personalised?

Your wedding is all about YOU. This is why all of my ceremonies are planned to suit each individual couple.

While I do provide my clients with an example of a ceremony format I have no standard template for my ceremonies and adapt what I do to reflect each couples personalities and their relationship.

I spend time with my clients to learn about them, their story as a couple and their dreams for their wedding day. I also ask each couple to spend time completing a questionnaire that allows me to learn about their time together and ask them to share stories that I can include in their ceremony.

Can you help us with the legal documents?

The last thing I want you worrying about is filling out boring legal documents! I will complete and lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage on your behalf and will assist with the completion of any other required documentation (such as Statutory Declarations). I will also assist in your application for a legal Marriage Certificate.

How long will the ceremony go for?

The length of the ceremony will depend on the inclusions you would like, however the average time for a ceremony is around 20 minutes and another 10 minutes to sign the register

Kate is fantastic, very informative, relaxed and consistent. She had a great, down to earth style and a really nice personality. Our ceremony felt like us, was personalised, sweet but not cheesy. Kate Browne Civil Celebrant ~ Where do I start! Kate has been amazing, her service was so beautifully written and we were simply blown away at how personalised the ceremony was. It was like nothing I had heard before and the whole service was tailored to tell our storey, it really was so special and I am so thankful. We’ve received so many beautiful comments from our guests too. One of Kate’s methods involved completing a survey. This was one of my favourite activities throughout the planning stage. We made dates out of it, sitting together drinking coffee Saturday mornings having a laugh and reflecting on our journey. Or sometimes we’d complete some questions separately and read back on each others answers. After 15 years together you think you’d know each other inside out, but this survey gave us more insights to each others point of view. It really was one of my favourite activities that I will value always.
