Real Wedding - Bianca & Zach

Wedding Date:  10/28/2011
Location:  Mandurah

HOW WE MET :

We met back in high school and became firm friends, though after I changed schools we didn´t see much of each other until we went to a party with mutual friends, we began talking again and seeing each other more often and romance eventually blossomed.

THE PROPOSAL:

Our parents were reaquainting themselves with each other after not seeing each other for years and we had organised a dinner with both families. During dessert I noticed Zach getting a little nervous so I was wondering what was happening, and then after dessert he called for everyone´s attention, got down on one knee and told me that he couldn´t imagine not waking up to my face everyday and not having me in his life and would I marry him :) I said yes obviously :P

THE WEDDING DRESS:

The wedding dress was by Eden Bridal, and was made in America. It was ivory coloured as I am natually quite pale so I was advised against a white dress. It had a tulle base that was gathered crystal snowflakes and a long train. There were a few issues with the dressmaking of it and it was altered about 5 times and on the day I ended up having to get the top pinned up as it was too big around my bust.

ACCESSORIES:

My earrings were from Sydney I had them sent via Australia Registered post, they were schwarzki crystals branching out with a fresh water pearl dangling at the base. My shoes were from ASOS in London and were ballet flats with embroided sheer lace for the show and a black bow on the toe area.

THE GROOM'S ATTIRE:

Zach wore a black suit with a black shirt and jacket with an ivory tie and handkerchief. Zach had ivory flowers pinned onto his suit while the groomsman wore the same suits but instead had dark roses pinned to their suits.

THE BRIDESMAIDS:

The Bridesmaids also got their dresses from Eden Bridal and were made in America, I went for a simple but flattering design. With an ivory bust with a roushed black belt of material and a flowy A-Line black skirt. I chose this design as it would really accentuate the gorgeous flowers they would be holding. They had two sets of shoes, a pair of black heels for the ceremony and photographs and a pair of black sparkly flats for the reception. Their hair was braided across the fringe and swept to one side and held in place with a handmade clip of ivory roses. Their earrings were a smaller version of the ones I wore.

THE THEME:

The wedding theme was black, ivory and the deep red. The base colours were black and ivory and we used the deep red as the standout feature of everything.

FLOWERS:

The flowers were deep red roses, with ivory roses to compliment them in the bridesmaids bouquets, and with black and deep red/maroon ribbons and tulle for the handles.

THE CEREMONY & RECEPTION DECOR:

My mum hand made hearts to decorate the aisles which we also used as the entrance to our reception venue. We had the centrepieces made to match the bouquets for the reception with black featured ribbons and netting among deep red roses and ivory roses. They were placed on a mirror with crystals scattered around them in the afternoon reception, and for the evening reception they were placed in the centre of the table with red heart scatters and tealights down the long tables.

THE TRANSPORT :

We used a black BMW 4WD for the Bridal car to really make the dress stand out, and an ivory ford fairlane for the bridesmaids and an ivory ford falcon for the groomsmen, the two ivory cars had a deep red ribbon down the front of them and the bridal car had a white ribbon.

BOMBONIERE:

We used little silver heart place card holders for our bomboniere with handmade placecards with each guests name on them.

THE WEDDING CAKE:

Our cake was a three tier cake with royal icing. The largest tier was chocolate mud while the top two tiers were caramel mudcake. There were ivory hearts piped along the middle layer and each layer had a small black ribbon at the base with a red shot with black larger ribbon just above it and handmade edible roses to decorate each tier and to create a dome on the top.

THE HONEYMOON:

We went off to Singapore for our honeymoon and shopped up a storm! We had a fantastic time especially at the newly opened Universal Studios. We also enjoyed some much needed relaxation time with each other :)

SPECIAL MOMENTS:

The whole day was amazing it went by super fast, there were a few hiccups here and there but on the day they are so insignificant. It would be hard to pick a favourite part but I must say the evening reception was amazing. We had it at the Stage Door Bar and Brassiere and the food was superb! The staff was super friendly and efficient, it honestly couldn´t have gone better!! It was only a short walk to our hotel too so we were able to walk across the jetty at sunset on our way over to the venue and stumble back there after the reception had finished :)
