Did You Know?

  • In ancient Rome, bridesmaids (and groomsmen) were included in the wedding party to act as decoys. They would dress like the bride and groom in the hope of confusing evil spirits who may wish the couple ill health and unhappiness.
  • Continuing the theme of warding off bad luck, ancient brides carried bouquets of garlic and/or rosemary, not flowers, in order to fend off the evil eye.
  • It’s that time of year again…

Woohoo! We’ve just kicked off our second annual Wedding of the Year competition, which celebrates the best of Australia’s weddings.

The competition, which runs until December, offers suppliers of everything from bomboniere to wedding gowns, the chance to expose their products and services to tens of thousands of potential customers.

This year’s winning couple will score a seriously luxurious second honeymoon to Fiji, staying at the beautiful InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa – flying Fiji Airways‘ business class, of course!

And the photographer who took the winning shots, too, will win something special! They’ll receive a year’s complimentary directory advertising on Easy Weddings or a new business website to the value of $2,500.

Whether you’re a photographer or not, our Wedding of the Year competition is about exposing your brand, so please encourage your customers to submit their weddings in this year’s  competition. They can do so here.

    Until next time,
