...413 days since our wedding!
Greetings to You!
I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this little venture is but I am sure it will be made clear to me in time.
In the meantime I welcome you to this little patch of green. Make yourself at home. Sit back have a nice hot cup of tea (You want some tea now don't you?) and browse through the nothingness that is our love. I mean oops, the plenitude.
The Bride
Born and raised in suburbia, I grew up a shy and resigning young lady. Brought up to be quite proper and well behaved by my parents, I struggled to fit in with the wild uncontrollable nature of my peers.
Never feeling comfortable as a teenager, I struggled to find a place in the world, hitting a wall in my early twenties and undergoing an existential crisis (typically not uncommon to people of this age group).
Studying and working, working and studying but mostly slacking I slept my way through my twenties. Somehow I ended up with a degree and a series of dead end jobs.
Currently, I am 28 years old, more annoying than quiet and not much more advanced in my career but I am obviously happy in my personal life, particularly, when I can get John to leave the safety of his computer desk and pay me the attention that I so clearly deserve.
Yes, I find my life tragically amusing. Viva la wedding fun!
The Groom
John, the artist formally known as Johnny, was born and raised in The Netherlands. He led a charmed life in a place where the bicycle is the preferred mode of transportation.
He did typical boy stuff like pull things apart to see how they work, listen to music that would make your ears bleed, and write love letters to girls, those of which he should compile into book form. Johnny also had the single most terrible haircut in the whole of Holland.
Once his Mother, Stepfather and Sisters moved to Australia he followed after finding he had a love for the flora and fauna of our great land. Oh, and he missed them too. Once here he became a bona fide Johnny Rambo tearing up the countryside making mischief and breaking hearts.
Sometimes, known as the Snake Whisperer he would pursue the snakes of Australia (No that is not a metaphor - Jeez) with reckless abandon. This was until he was lured by the glow of a computer screen and the desire to become the geekiest geek in all of Kariong. Now you are lucky to get him outside, but if you do make sure he is wearing sunscreen because boy does this man burn.
Today, you will find John, as he is now known, in his study playing World of Warcraft while his disgruntled fiancee sits writing blurbs such as this to pass the time.
How We Met
After attending high school together and having zero interest in each other, John instead pursuing my best friend and I considering John to be an odd rosy cheeked boy with an interesting accent and a penchant for cigarettes, our paths eventually crossed again seven years later.
John having added a mutual friend of ours to his friend's list on a social networking site and then later myself for whatever reason (I like to think it was my looks and charm), we began a dialogue online whereby witty banter ensued.
John however, again sought to pursue my friend. After they re-connected briefly, and I mistakenly dated an ex- friend of his for a short period of time, we remained friends and continued to spend time together.
During this time, we grew closer, our relationship had changed. John's charming persona began to grow on me and on March 1, 2008 we went on our first date.
