So when did everyone set up their lolly buffet? Did you put the lollies out the day before and hope they didn't go stale, or did you organise for someone to go in on the day and put all the lollies in the jars?

I'm thinking I'll put mine in when we set up the day before and put glad wrap over the jars to try to keep them fresh, we'll just have to somehow sneakily take the glad wrap off before the guests arrive...

I was just going to ask the same thing Millie. Is this something your venue can set up for you? Or do you get someone to help? We can only have access to our room 2 hours before so we're cutting it a bit close.

We get access to ours the day before, so we'll be setting up the room then. We're just hiring a hall, so there's no 'venue' to set it up for us. I'll set up the jars and stuff the day before, I'm just not sure what to do about the lollies themselves, I'm worried they'll go all hard and yuk if they're out in the open for too long.

I can't believe you can only get access to the venue 2 hours before Kelsbells, how frustrating!

Glad wrap the Lollies? That should keep them fresh overnight!

We get night before access and are going to glad wrap the jars with the lollies inside, then ask the venue staff to set it up on the table on the day (as we are outside so cant' place it the night before!) If they are too pushed for time, my FSIL will do it for us. Do you have some family or a friend who might be able to get there a few mins early and get it ready?

Yep, I think that's what we'll do. They should be fine overnight with glad wrap over them.

    :bump:

Love this thread! Super! I didn't want a lolly buffet, at all, 6 months into planning, FH and I both want one!
After seeing this thread and other inspiration pictures - I NEED ONE! :spin:

Anyone else had a lolly buffet between then and now who can share their stories or inspirations? :banana-gotpics:
How much did you need to order (kg wise) in the end and how much for how many people?
I'm thinking of a really bright lolly buffet - even though we're having a navy/dusty pink/charcoal wedding! I just love the idea of a funky buffet as a surprise!

I would love some pics too!
We have decided to do a lolly buffet for favours and I am loving seeing it all come together! Got some great jars from target on sale (half price, plus used a gift card from our engagement party!), got all our candy from Costco last weekend, and then tomorrow heading to ikea to get some scoops/tongs.

We have decided to not do the colour theme and do an american candy theme as we are going to hawaii for our honeymoon. We have got some cute stripey favor bags with heart shaped tags saying 'As a thank you for sharing our special day, please fill this bag at the candy buffet'.

Will post photos in a couple of months once our special day has been & gone :)
