So I'm tossing up whether or not to have chair covers. FH and I are fine without them as the chairs at the venue are quite nice but was wondering of we do have them then if someone spills something on them ( being white) will we have to pay for cleaning?

I would assume that most companies would ask you to pay for cleaning - or you would pay a security deposit - which you would lose if they were dirty.

We aren't having chair covers - we figure people are going to sit in them and the chairs look nice enough without them.

I just assumed not... Nothing was mentioned by our venue but now I'm going to do some more investigating!

Our venue contract says we are responsible for any damage, I assume most contracts would be the same and damage to linen would come under that.

In saying that, I would think general cleaning costs of linen would be included in the hire price (I mean of course they are going to wash the linen regardless of spillage). I would think you would only be liable for further costs if the damage was such that it was irrepairable and linen needed to be replaced.

Ours are included but I wouldn't think we would have to pay for them unless they were ripped etc

To me general wear and tear of things like tablecloths on which food, wine etc will be placed would include spills.

I know people who have been to our venue before and haven't been charged for that, but I know the stuff we are hiring seperately does have a clause about that. I would think most places would be reasonable though and would only charge you if something was completely ruined.

we didnt have to pay to clean them, im sure its in the cost of hiring them

We didn't have to pay for cleaning either and they were white too. So I'm sure cleaning is included but if they are damaged and/or ripped then that may be a different story.

Cleaning was included in our hire price but I'm fairly sure that if the covers were burnt or ripped etc then we had to cover the cost of replacing them. We got chair covers as the chairs were all different colours and designs so we preferred to pay the extra for covers as we wanted them all to match

Thanks everyone. I'm just concerned if someone spills red wine on them or food or something as i know it's bound to happen. I just want to cover everything
