Where to start??
Karl & I met when I was 16 and he was 22. I had been asked to work that night and was catching the train home afterwards, still in my uniform. He was supposed to be working but had been sent home with his workmate because they'd been drinking during the day (it was his workmate's birthday). He was at the train station because he'd lost his licence a few months prior. His workmate approached me and asked if I knew his cousin who also worked at the same place I did (as I was still wearing my uniform). The 3 of us started chatting and Karl and I both got off at the same station (coincidentally we only lived down the road from one another). He walked me home, I got his number, and the rest, they say, is history.
We got engaged on Friday 15th October, 2010. I had brought up the subject of marriage with him a few months beforehand and we both discussed what it would mean (definitely a LLLOOONNNGGG engagement as we'd just bought our first home not long before that) if we decided to get engaged. Anyway, when his tax return came in he asked if I wanted to go ring shopping. I said what any girl would say and we found one that I fell in love with! It had to be sent off to be resized and when it came in he took me down the beach where we'd had our first "official" date (thank goodness he didn't propose at the train station LOL!).
We have booked Chateau Wyuna for Sunday 2nd March, 2014. Our ceremony will be at 10.30am on the pergola lawn (at this stage) and followed by a luncheon sit-down reception in the Tree Top Room. I love the idea of having a lunch time wedding with 40-50 of our close friends and family; not to mention the amount of $$ we have saved this way.
I wasn't going to make a S&T until closer to the wedding but I am the absolute 'Google Queen' so have lots of ideas already and thought this would be a good way to make it all come together. Our plan is to book the major things this year (ie. photographer, videographer, celebrant) to ensure the ones we want are available for our March wedding and then next year will be all the smaller things. I definitely don't want to waste the time I have to plan (and save!!) and I like to have everything organised (bit of a control freak, I'll admit).
Hope you enjoy my S&T over the next 2 years!!
