I think you should be able to wear whatever colour you want....

colour is over hyped. White wedding dresses are a fairly recent thing anyway bought about by one of the queen victorias (?), and before that a girl wore the best dress she could.
I am wearing a jet black dress. In spain they still wear black dresses. Even if they didn who cares, I dont!!!. its your day, you need to be beautiful as you. I hate white on me. and ivory and all pastels i look awful in them. I also only have to look at those colours and I get filthy!

I say go for it. I plan on wearing a champagne coloured dress... cuz i dont particularly want to wear a white dress either. Your day, your choice.

i bought a white dress, then i bought a black dress, and now i have settled on the black dress... so GO FOR IT!

I love that dress. My colours were red and white so that would have totally fit my wedding to!

Personally though, I couldnt do it. Im not traditional in the sense I wasnt walked down the aisle or given away... BUT the one day in my entire life I can wear a white gown ... Is the day I was a bride. And dam right I was wearing WHITE

Don't make your mother feel disappointed. You can do one thing. Nag like a little baby, that you wanna wear the red one. And let your mom choose the accessories for that particular dress. This will make you mom feel special, and you can go with your own choice too.
BTW you are looking stunning in the red dress.
