We went looking at prams yesterday and really like the look of the Mountain Buggy brand. DH and I are "discussing" which style we want either the Terrain (has huge wheels and a hand brake) or the Urban. It is easy to fold up and down, light to push (at least without a baby ) and has a great bassinette attachment you can use as well. We are looking for something that can deal with uneven surfaces, hills and such as well because of where we live. DH thinks we need the one with extreme wheels, even though it doesn't fold up quite as compactly as the urban model which I think would still suit the types of things we will be doing. http://mountainbuggy.com/buggies/single/terrain#_panel_dark_02(can't figure out how to get the pictures to here)

Hi all
I am not going to TTC for a couple of years but was wondering if anyone has a bugaboo? FH and I have been talking about buying on in the US while on our Honeymoon in July. It seems the city is similar to it so don't know if I should just wait
Thanks for your help Lisa

we got this because it can be uesed upto 35 kg which means it will get us through a few years as i didnt find the need for a bassinett as dd is already 3 months and sitting slightly up now and a friend of mine who uses one said she was going to change her pram over from bassinett to normal
pros its designed for terrain so i go for long walks etc and it goes great its light to push and the front wheel doesnt look it turns whereve u r going easy to manovere we do have a portable basinet that can clip in and take out if she is sleeping and dont want to disturb her
cons bit heavy getting in and out of car weighs 11kg but im used to it now all the acessories like the insert, rain cover and net are all extra and dont come with the pram drink holder can only put bottles in not like maccas cups etc it would spill out because of the direction the drink holder is in * however we brought a drink holder from big w on sale that clams on easily)
This is what I think we should get... when you say you go for long walks are they on sealed roads or unsealed roads?? loose surfaces and how does it go up and down hills??? Oh and does it take up a lot of space in the car? DH thinks the Terrain (with the big wheels and hand brake) would be better, but I'm unsure. Its heavier and I think that the urban jungle would suit what we would be doing mostly. We are going to get the bassinette attachment too. Thanks for your post!!

i do walk mainly on sealed surfaces and occasional grass, up and down hills no probelem very light to push, i must admit i drive a holden cruze and it takes up pretty much the whole boot but dh drives a commodore and theres heaps of space left what sort of car do u drive?
the footbreak is very stable i tested it when i went down a flat esculator onde day and didnt move anywhere which is how its supposed to be which was good! i dont think u need a hand break only thing is footbreak is hard to put up in open shoes ouchy i use my hands lwhen i am wearing thongs

We have a bugaboo cameleon , i think its fantastic it has foam filled wheels , reversible handle , reversible seat and bassinet , changeable hoods and seat covers, a huge hood and under basket. We have the off white , pink , black and sand toppings =D its a bit pricey but def worth it.

I've had tons of prams, steelcraft, mothers love, cheapo target $20 pram. Once the kiddies were toddlers - we used the cheapo $20 99% of the time, it was smaller, lighter and easier to take through shops etc. But for babies, you can't go past the steelcraft brand. You can switch the seat as they grow, you can have a basinet, take that off and add a normal seat, and even if you have a second kid you can buy a add-on toddler seat. Good luck

We went with the Valco Rebel Q because it had all the features we wanted without being ridiculously expensive. I obviously haven't used it much yet but it goes around my house alright!
