Hi guys Im hoping someone can help/advise me. I have an 8 year old daughter and Ive noticed resently she is growing little boobies! I can't remember when all that started with me, but she seems so young. What age is 'normal' She is tall for her age, but not overweight, so its no 'puppy fat' I have briefly spoken to her about it and it doesn't seem to bother her. I don't want to draw too much attention to it, as i don't want her to be embaressed. She still lets me in the bathroom with her, she hates running the shower etc. She has started changing with the door closed though, which is not an issue. I have mentioned maybe getting some of those little crop top things, I think Bonds do them, for her, but shes not fussed. I just want to know if anyone else has had this with their kids/neices etc? What the best approach??

Oh beanie - I still have a few years for this but I remember Mum taking me shopping when other girlfriends started wearing them. Could you maybe ask he if her friends wear them? Maybe just buy her a cute bonds crop top you mentioned to see how she reacts to it.

I remember one of my good friends got boobs before everyone else, and I remember other kids commenting a bit about it in grade 5 (so that would've made us 10). So that means she probably started about the age of 9? I didn't need a trainer bra until about the age of 11-12.
I don't think there's a 'normal' age, so I wouldn't be too worried. But I'd probably get a bonds bra for her in the meantime?

From health class memory, 8-12 is the general range for little girls becoming little women When I was around that age, I liked the crop tops (then again, I was always playing sport) so I kinda agree with Ellie - get her one and see how it takes

with all the hormones in our food these days, little girls' bodies are developing faster now then ever. i read a little 6 year old got her period! but developing "buds" so they are called, can happen anywhere from age 8.

but there is hormones in nearly everything we use and eat now... shampoos are terrible. might as well rub a placenta into your head.

OK. Now I am GROSSED OUT!!!
YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! So the general consenses is to buy her a crop top and see how we go. Thanks for your response ladies, all my friends have boys so they are useless when it comes to my girl! I am sure I was in grade 6 when I got my first bra, I do remember begging mum to buy me one. Next question, should I take her with me?? Or do I just buy them? When she gets her period I will freak out!!!!!!!!!! Do I get her one of those books 'whats happening to me?' or should I hold off??
