I suspect a few other people are having trouble finding motivation to exercise, so I thought I'd start an accountability thread. (I know there's a 'weekly weight loss' one, but I think this is different enough to justify being a different thread). I have no trouble doing exercise on the nights I play basketball and netball, mostly because I enjoy them, but partly because other people rely on me. I can't just not turn up. So I thought I might find it easier to exercise if I knew other people were expecting me to do it, and they were exercising because they were using me for motivation. So, here is my thread to post daily(!) about whether I've done my exercise for the day. Hopefully there are others that can use it for this, too. Good luck, girls

So, tonight I have to get on the treadmill for at least 30 mins. I'll post later, hopefully saying that I've done it! ETA: Well, I did it. Hopefully this keeps up!

I don't know if this is possible for you girls at it can get quite pricey.... I do two personal training sessions a week with my PT.... if I don't go to gym or workout in some way on every other day that I don't train with her I feel like I am letting HER down.... weird I know but it certainly keeps me motivated!!!

I love that idea...The PTs at my gym are so great, I think I'll do that in the few months leading up to my wedding, but for now I'm on a tight budget

Comet1998 a few people have suggested this, but I don't do well with personal trainers. Since I'm paying them, I don't particularly care if I let them down, and I don't do well with either positive (you can do this!) or negative (what are you, weak?) encouragement from someone who is attempting to train me. There's something strange in my personality mummygettingmarried - great plan! And definitely no excuses if FH is there! AFM: I WILL walk the dogs today. And do an addition 30 mins on the treadmill at some point tonight.

OH I will be joining this in a few days, when my concussion and dizziness is all gone What does everyone do for exercise? I usually go to Curves, 5 times a week. 1 or 2 times boot camp a week. I'm really trying to focus this year on getting fit (losing weight is defo a bonus) but I hate feeling lethargic and tired so that's the goal for me I know.. Curves is predominately 'Grannies' But the one near my place is awesome, they have funky music and its really goal orientated, it's a bit like what your saying Comet, you get to know the chicks, and they notice if you don't turn up so you feel more committed to go (well, maybe that's just me?) And because you work on the machines, in a circle facing each other - I have too much pride to be slack or just kind of just drift off like I do at normal gyms

Oh yes count me in ladies!!!! I have been really good this week and been walking everyday. Next week I am going to start running but needed to ease into in gently or I would have given up on day one I am not a gym person - I have tried so many times but it just doesn't feel right to me. Nor would I cope with a PT. I am more likely to yell at them than focus on the actual exercises so it is all down to me and running. I have changed my diet too - not cutting anything out, just eating smaller portions and more fruit and vegies. Still going to try and get Zumba for home but I think the DVD's not the Wii game...am borrowing FSIL's next week to see if I like it first before buying it. AND today I haven't been walking yet due to the Easter Bonnet Parade at Kindy so will have to go this arvo! Will check in and let you know if I actually do it....

Good thread!! Today my calves are still recovering from about 300 chin jumps and a flogging on the treadmill 2 days ago....and I just finished night shift so running on about 4hrs sleep....but I'm about to head out and wlak the dog...he is a good motivator. He know when its walk time in the afternoon....he comes and sits in front of me and paws at my leg so I feel bad if I don't take him out! Hehe
Anyone who has a Goodlife Gym around, I think its something they all do, but mine has a 2hr Cardio Challenge on Easter Sat, its Body Step, Body Attack, Zumba and Cycle....last time they did it was Xmas Eve and I was dripping with sweat...can't wait to do it on Sat!!
