Maybe you could have the first name starting with J, so you can use your sister's name for a middle name? I think that's a lovely touch, BTW, to use your sister's name.
Yeah there aren't a lot of J names I like... I keep automatically thinking of Jane for a middle name but that's mine, so don't want to use that!

Except we can't find a J name we can agree on! Can't have (for various reasons): Jane, Jenna, Janna, Jan, Jessica, Josephine, Jezebel, Jasmine, Jacinta, Janet, Joanne/Joanna and there's really not a lot left!

I went to school with a girl called trinity and we all called her Rin. It was cool. Im a rebecca and got called Becky up until mid highschool as it sounds a bit young. After that it's always been bec unless I'm in trouble or someone is upset with me then I get Rebecca lol. I like my name but I did grow up with at least one Rebecca in my class every year at school. One year there were 3.
I do like Bianca though.

Jemima, June, Juniper, Jizelle (meant to be spelt with a 'g' but people change a lot of names nowadays ), Jordan...? Aurin wrote:DH is so picky! He wants a name that can be shortened to a nickname so he can use that name normally, and then use the full name so the child knows she's/he's in trouble This is totally me! I must have a usable nickname, and FH wants a name that can't have a nickname! Which is frustrating because all my favourite names can't be nicknamed, but I don't want to give in!!

I knew there were some that got left off the list! We also can't have names that are things (like Jade and June (a month)) and Jemima is off 'coz of Playschool. Also, we both have an aversion to 'new fangled' or unisex names. What's worse is that I'm sure we actually came up with the perfect name once, and now I can't remember what it was!

sweetime, what about Jacquelin, Jackie, Jada/Jaida, Jaimie, Jamison, Janelle, Jean, Jennie/Jenny/Jennifer, Jill/Jillian, Joan, Jody/Jodie, Joy/Joyce, Jolie, Josie, Judith, Julia/Juliana/Julie, Justine, etc
I personally like jaimie (but my fiance has the man version jamie so that might be why lol), jacquelin as it can be shortened to jackie and others for middle names but i know you already have your middle name set out

Jacqueline, Jean (love the nn Jeannie), Jocelyn, Juliet/Juliette? ( rebecca, you beat me to the punch on most of your names!) I have an account on http://www.behindthename.com, so when I find a name i vaguely like, I add it to my list. Over the years, i've been able to add and cull as i see fit Helps me remember all the names I like too, because my memory is hopeless

FH's son is already Jamie Jaqueline (and all variations) are ruled out, my sister is Jennifer, Jamison is unisex (or just plain old strange ), Janelle is actually a new one! But I'm not a fan. Jillian and Judith were ruled out (too old fashioned I think was the complaint). Jean, Joan, Jodie, Joy, Josie and Justine don't abbreviate. We *do* semi-agree on Julianna, but there are other names I like better, they just don't start with J! I actually wouldn't mind Josie as the abbreviated version of Josephine, but FH doesn't like Josephine, so... I have at various stages read aloud the J names in baby name books and from baby name websites to FH, it's just the remembering them that's hard!
