Mid north coast ceremony/ reception ideas HELP

Postby jesssalee on Fri May 11, 2012 12:23 pm

    Hi there,

It's my first time posting here, but I really need some advice. My wonderful FH and I are in the very early stages of wedding planning, and while I think I've found my dress, and I have a few ideas for a colour scheme, I am finding deciding upon a location difficult.

We want to be married in port Macquarie, or the surrounding area, and I have found a few places we like, I am looking for a few places that aren't so common. I guess what I am asking is if anyone knows any little hidden gems in the area??

This whole process is so lovely and overwhelming, I am loving coming here for everyone's tips :)

    Hi jessalee

are you asking about ceremony or reception venues? and what sort of numbers are you thinking?
also what time of the year?

There are some truly gorgeous headlands in the area that you could have your ceremony on. Sea acres rainforest park is lovely. Bonny Hills and Laurieton area are great. There are a couple of great vineyards in the area (Cassegrains - in Port, or Bago Vineyards, near Wauchope), I've been to gorgeous weddings at both.

There are some gorgeous quaint little churches around the Wauchope/Byabarra/Beechwood etc. And if you want a really 'old style/heritage' thing, then try Timbertown.

The other thing that might help is looking at some of the websites of some photographers from the area, and see if you like the look of a location someone else used (I know you said less common, but you never know).

Not sure if you are from the area or not, but hope this helps.
