Ohh all those dresses are beautiful! I'm going to have heaps to take to my dressmaker!

They are gorgeous Sweetime, but probably not exactly right (I'm a little fussy ) I was thinking more like this maybe?

Thanks ladies! I'm really excited about the party (not least because we get PRESENTS :vhappy:) I'll take photos of the bunting and boxes when they're done, and of course HEAPS of pics on Saturday!

My parasol and fan arrived today, and I am thrilled with them! They are just perfect. When FH saw the parasol he was like 'What's that for? You're not going to hold it up in the church are you?' When I told him it was mainly for photos he was a little confused
Anyway, I am more than happy to recommend the supplier, now that I've seen the product :mung: The email says they were posted on Feb 15, so less than two weeks to arrive!

Started back at uni today, let's not talk about that :BH: It just makes everything busier, and gives me less time to dream about weddings

I didn't think they were what you wanted, it just so happened that they were the first place that I've seen that's selling lace gloves that aren't fingerless

I'll keep an eye out for ones that look a little bit more crocheted! I'm a fan of just the plain kid gloves myself - I've got a pair languishing in a drawer that I never wear because my desire to pretend like I'm from the 1940s freaks FH out just ever so slightly.

Good luck being back at uni. I'm doing a PhD so I never notice when uni is on holiday or not as I'm there year 'round, but then, I don't have to do assignments either. I don't know which of us is the bigger winner

Sorry I've been missing for a few days; we had our engagement party on Saturday afternoon and all last week was crazy preparations! We hired a gorgeous little hall and had an 'Ice Cream Parlour' with DIY Sundae stations! Unfortunately it was cold and wet, but we still had heaps of fun. Thought I'd pop up a few photos since I don't really have any wedding things to share.

Our 'cakes' - the cardboard ones were filled with Pascal eclairs, and the macarons were going to be a tower, but we ran out of time :spin:

The hall set-up. Please note the bunting around the walls; we spent hours cutting 160 flags from vintage materials and then ironing them all onto the string!

Woah, sorry for the pic overload! I've got a couple more coming, too!

    Bridal Party
One of my BMs lives in Tasmania, I literally haven't seen her since she moved in January last year (whenever she came over we just couldn't co-ordinate :() But she flew out for the party and it was so fantastic to see her!! Also meant we finally had all our bridal party in the one place (probably won't happen again til the wedding) so we got photos!

FH's best friend Luke, my brother Jacob, FH Daniel, and FH's brother Ben (his best man)

We got one of them all together, but they all felt really awkward so it's not a great photo

It all looks very nice - well done!

I hope you kept that bunting to re-use at the wedding! Where did you manage to find the fabric?

Thanks Sweetime, we'll definitely re-use the bunting!

We had all the fabric; there was some lefover from the couch my parents bought 25 years ago, some old curtains, some my aunty had bought to make my cousin a dress 30 years ago, and a heap Mum had collected when she was into patchwork but had never used. So I think it cost us $4 for the ball of string (of which we used half) and $7 for a roll of hem tape!

Ah. So you're one of *those* people that always seem to just 'happen' to come across super awesome saving ideas of which I'm always jealous.
I'm afraid we can no longer be friends.

More like I'm one of *those* people who never throws anything out, and I clearly get that habit from my mother
