    Wedding Colours

    Postby Coco84 on Sat Jul 07, 2012 11:43 pm

We have decided to have a silver themed wedding. I was wanting to have silver chiffon bridesmaid dresses and pale grey suits for the groomsmen. Just wondering on peoples thoughts if this is too much silver or should i change the bridesmaids dresses to another colour. I dont want the photos to look washed out or bland, the bouquets are purple.

I don't think it will look too washed out....I know this pic has the flower girls in yellow, but you can see how the flowers and parasol add a bit of colour and it looks really good :)

Once you’ve chosen the date and the reception site, the next most important decision is probably the choice of color for the wedding. The color will run through the wedding making its appearance in flowers, decorations, bridesmaid dresses, groomsman accessories, favors and the wedding cake. The color theme should be chosen carefully because this will be seen often on your big day (and in all the wedding pictures as well).

Since flowers are important when thinking of a color theme consider the time of year your wedding will take place. Find out which flowers will be in season because flowers that are in season are considerably less expensive than those that aren’t. Once you have a list of possible flowers, look at the colors they represent.

Another important factor when deciding on a color theme is the coloring of your bridesmaids. In fact, one good way to find a good color is when trying on bridesmaid dresses. Try to put aside your former thought about color and look at different colors on the girls. You may be surprised to find a color you hadn’t thought of before. You don’t want to make the bridesmaids wear a color they truly don’t like. For instance, if you have a lot of blond bridesmaids try not to use a pale color. The pale tones will wash out their skin making them look pasty.

Choose color based on the season of the year. Spring colors are often lighter in color while summer colors are brighter. Fall and winter colors are deeper and stronger. When you choose the color you can use similar colors to complement it. For instance, you can have flowers in one tone while the bridesmaid dresses may be another similar color. You can try varying hues in the same color family.

Get ideas from bridal magazines. You will find many color combination ideas in magazines and online. Remember to keep it real. Many times the magazines may show extremes that are just not practical for a typical wedding. You can get ideas from friends and family as well as your fiancé, who may have some input into the color theme.

In the end, always choose a color you like. You’ll be spending lots of time looking at it in the months before your wedding and many years seeing it in pictures after the big day.

    Hope it can help you.
    Have a good day!~ :text-woo:

I think Silver will look great especially with the accents of purple in there, if you feel the maids need to stand out more, why not try adding some purple sashes to the dresses (depending on the design of course).

I think it's wonderful. It looks like everyone is having a blast and it's just gorgeous with all the colors combined in one picture.

Anyway, the thing about these themed wedding is a bit harder for the ones included in the important parts of the wedding itself. Glad that I found this website that got me the dress that goes with the theme and with my figure. I hope you guys can make use of it as well.
