Hey all, Would anyone be able to recommend a wedding dance studio in Melbourne, or better yet, a mobile one that either does in home tuition or private lessons within North/West Melbourne Suburbs? Of course Google has given me answers, but if anyone can actually recommend a business, that would be great Oh, and we're beginners

I do classes at MarShere and they're really good. They offer private lessons for bridal as well and have several different studios but not sure if there's any out your way. Check out the website www.marshere.com.au

Oh, umm, I guess just something for a wedding? We're thinking of dancing to Dream a little Dream by Mama Cass, so ...a foxtrot? I have no idea about dancing! I don't even know what a real foxtrot is! I'm so out of touch!

*Im totally biased as swing dancing has stolen my heart* Some slow lindy or blues would go well with that song. In fact, I'm sure I've danced to it at a social or something. The thing I love about swing dancing is that its not rigid at all. Its a lead and follow dance. So basically, for a wedding dance, you would have a few key moves you want to do, like some turns, a dip or whatever, and you just fill in the rest with basic steps. If you stuff up, you just kind of wiggle in a fun way until your back into a good position. I dance with Swing Patrol (google em) and I think they do private lessons. But I have seen a sign at a shop in Moonee Ponds advertising swing dancing which might be closer to home for you? Ok, i'll shut up about swing dancing now....

I thought swing dancing was like what they do in the 50's, like the real upbeat kind. Moonee Ponds isn't too far at all, I went to HS in Essendon and worked at Coles in MP!

I use to do Salsa dance classes at Dance Dynamics but they do all sorts of different styles. Some of the dancers on Dancing With The Stars came from Dance Dynamics too. Although their studio are in the Eastern and South Eastern suburbs they do come to you as well for private lessons and they do specialise in wedding dances! Check the website for details - http://www.dancedynamics.com.au/#!wedding-/ci4a

Hi, I am currently having dance lessons with Jo Guess from http://www.first-dance-melbourne.com.au/instructors/and I cannot recommend her highly enough. My FH is as wooden as they come but she's managed to make us look great (our wedding is in 2 weeks, but she took a video of us dancing during the lesson so we can easily remember the moves when we practice). First Dance have instructors all around Melbourne, but I can only recommend Jo as I haven't had lessons with anyone else. Hope that helps!
