I want to have one at the location so my sister can be there, as she won't be at the wedding itself. Then we'll have our dinner at our reception venue, just around the corner, and follow it up with the hen's night.

We didn't want to do one either and my celebrant was adamant we had one! I thought it was helpful - just for timings of your processional music, when people need to jump in for stuff. Where to stand etc.

Some of it is common sense but there were somethings we didn't think of.

We are going to but not at our venue...it is too far away for all of us to get there at a time that suits, so we will just do it at home. Mostly so we know timing etc but if you think you don't need one then I wouldn't bother personally.

We didn't have one... and our celebrant said not necessary and we were fine in the end. She navigated where we would walk etc before we got there and asked us to follow where she walked (quite a bit in front but yes, had rained and ground was wet so I was glad to listen rather than ruin my dress!) and everything fell into place.

Our photographer wants a rehearsal but our celebrant says its not necessary (we have no attendants) .. so I think we'll have one with just the photographer
For my first wedding we had a rehearsal without any suppliers there .. we just turned up, played the music, paced out the aisle, got everyone to stand where they needed to and then all bundled back into our cars and left
It was useful even without the photographer or celebrant there just so it wasn't a whole lot of milling around on the day

You could always consider a 'run through' with the celebrant in another location or earlier than the final few weeks?
When we were planning to get married last year our celebrant then did free rehearsals in her own garden if you wanted one (otherwise you had to pay travel time to have her go to the actual ceremony site) .. I think we'd have gone with that if we'd gone ahead with the wedding last year

Or you could have someone else stand in place of the celebrant if you want to rehearse at the location but can't get things together at the right time?

We didn't have one. We had our ceremony in a park. DH and I met with the decorators to tell them where we want the aisle and seats set up. From there it is pretty self explanatory about how to walk down it and where to stand. We only had one attendant each and 2 page boys and 1 flower girl. We all just walked up when it felt right.

You should have put a poll question thingy on it :-D

We had one, but only in our backyard, not at our location.

We are really glad in the end that we did for this reason

It was just great to know exactly what needed to happen when, where, why and how.

Plus we did it on a Friday night so it was a fantastic excuse to have a nice dinner and a few drinks!

DH and I just had a quick rehearsal without the bridal party at the celebrants house.

We didn't really need a rehearsal with our bridal party... between our venue co-ordinator and the celebrant, everything flowed smoothly.
