Hi!
Has anybody had/having or been to a wedding here? It looks amazing! Just would like some opinions before we drive up the coast to view. Is there anything similar you could suggest?

We stayed there for a holiday and there was a wedding at the same time and it looked gorgeous. The hotel is right on the beach and there is a garden too so you can choose where your ceremony is. The only thing that some people may not like is that the reception room looks over the pool which people can be in during your reception and they could be looking out at that as well as the beach.

The hotel rooms are quite nice, although if you get the ones with the hinterland view, you also get a bonus view of the Sunshine COast airport! My DH loved it but he loves watching planes leave and come in all the time!

Thanks Nathan's Girl! We have holidayed up the Coast so many times, but have never been there. The garden is gorgeous but we can also get married on the beach or sand dunes! We have a small guest list so are thinking about doing the penthouse rooftop reception.
I think I will call them tomorrow and ask for someone to give us a bit of a tour etc.

Ive heard good and bad. I lived on the Sunny Coast for 4 yrs. We got married at Mooloolaba (before the rain, the Ceremony started at Coolum). ( married March 2012 so recent experience)

Ive heard "amazing" "gorgeous" etc. Ive also heard "food was dry, horrible, tough" "Expensive for what it was"

I say. Go there for dinner or if they dont offer it atleast bargain with them you arent spending THAT kind of money without tasting something! Luckily where i had my reception at Mooloolaba they are a restaurant (that you completely hire out) so we had dinner there aswell .... Amazing!!!!!

I would have to recommend to anyone that is looking at holding a wedding at Surfair to definately not book! I had a really bad experience - the resturant and function room looked filthy and the staff dressed inappropriately. The coordinator Kerrie-Anne I dealt with seemed unprofessional and slightly rude. I have seen many beautiful weddings on their website but when i dropped in to see a wedding set a few weeks ago it wasn't set like the many photos I had been shown. Maybe I might have had a bad experience but I wouldnt trust this venue with my special day. I have since booked a great venue on the Sunshine Coast and really happy with their service. Hmm there seem to be a lot of contradictory views going around here. I can say each to his own. Maybe its a season thing. When they're very busy then otherwise things are fine!

although, something i will add. I had my reception at 4th Floor Mooloolaba restaurant. Amazing service, Drinks topped up all night, Gorgeous food. It was perfect. Couldnt fault them ... ON the night.

The torture leading up to the day, The event manager (whom has since been replaced) is useless. Takes days to reply, Doesnt prompt brides / grooms on what needs doing, contracts stating payment to be made by 14 days until event. I was on HER case to give HER the money.

She finally asked for the money 4 days prior to the day. Id been asking for bank details etc, offered my credit details and constantly asking her to take the money. She wouldnt supply details / take the money.
