It was a Big Fat Greek Wedding to rule them all, with groom Andrew Constantinou and bride Rachel Carter's extravagant nuptials in Sydney's Inner West featuring fleets of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Rolls Royces and Harley-Davidsons, as well as troupes of dancing drummers and saxophonists.
The Sydney couple, who used the hashtag #ourbigfatgreekwedding to catalogue all the social media snaps from their big day, were married in an elaborate affair on Saturday the 9th of April in Homebush, with police confirming that organizers of the wedding advised police of their plans well in advance.
Greek-Cypriot businessman Andrew, 33, and Rachel, 32, held their wedding ceremony at the Pullman Hotel and were accompanied by $25million worth of luxury cars, troupes of drummers, saxophonists and Harley-Davidson motorbikes.
According to The Daily Telegraph, a wedding guest from the groom's side speculated that the wedding would have costs a minimum of $100,000 while another guest remarked that it's "very rude to ask how much it cost."
Bride Rachel wore a custom made trumpet-style gown by Norma Bridal Couture, which featured decorative beading and embellished sheer sleeves. Groom Andrew wore a classic black tuxedo with a sharp , black tie.
Rugby league football star Jonathan Thurston made a surprise cameo during the procession, as it happened he was staying at the Pullman Hotel, while actor from Here Come the Habibs Rob Shehadie was one of the guests present at the glamorous affair.
The businessman and his new bride's lavish nuptials have attracted quite a bit of publicity, with the media comparing the event to Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer's wedding which also took place in Sydney, back in August, 2015.
And, while this bride and groom's wedding day was indeed opulent to say the least, it seems that Russia's $1.3 billion wedding still takes the (wedding) cake when it comes to the highest price tag!
