Service Description
Imagine...Your wedding amongst the history, gardens & splendour of Old Government House Parramatta Park.
This is the most important National Trust House in Australia with sandstone courtyards, old English hedges, long vine covered verandahs plus..... a beautiful silk lined garden marquee with views through the trees to the river beyond.
Small private dining rooms and more.
Our staff understand weddings. We will make sure your day is just what you want, be as formal or informal as you wish. Your guests will have a fabulous time.
You can arrive up the Governor’s carriageway and be greeted on the front portico of Old Government House. Arrive through the house for drinks in the sand stone courtyard. Dine in our permanent silk lined garden marquee.
The marquee is set just beyond Governor King’s old carob tree. It features full air conditioning for cooling in summer and is positively cosy in winter. The marquee has a beautiful polished native Australian blackbutt timber floor with picture windows all round. The silk lining has sparkling fairy lights shining through from above. At night the courtyard is softly flood lit with high lit features of the house and tall eucalypt trees.
Parking is available close to our front door within Parramatta Park.

Pictureque venue made even more sumptuos by the lighting at night. Wait service on the night wonderful! Unfortunately the dirty silk in the marquee, rotten P.A. system (kept cutting out during speeches) and poor food let us down.

We had our ceremony on the steps of the house and a cocktail party in the resteraunt after, the service was great, plenty of food and drinks and a wonderful atmosphere, it did help we had the most gloriuos day in September last year.
