Sherwood Receptions is a 130 year old historic homestead situated amongst natural bushland that radiates both charm and elegance. Situated opposite Woodlands Park Reserve and 5 minutes from the Melbourne Airport, it’s rich heritage and association with Oaklands Hunt Club has seen many significant events throughout its years. Its vast terrain and majestic backdrop with captivating native surrounds of indigenous gums and cottage character was the setting for the Modern Pentathlon in the 1956 Olympics. In 1983 the extension to the main hall was opened presenting and enchanting space with tudor ceilings, polished floorboards, open fireplace, large dance floor and French doors opening out to a secure courtyard with manicured gardens and serene surroundings.

A wedding is a very special occasion , a momentous celebration that requires attention to every little detail. At Sherwood we pride ourselves on our service and commitment to make your day truly unforgettable. Our experienced co-ordinators will be here every step of the way from planning , setting up, walking down the aisle to celebrating well into the night. From a small intimate wedding to extravagant gathering we can accommodate your desires. Our main hall seats up to 200 guests with air-conditioning for summer comfort and an open fire place lending the perfect setting for winter.

Minimum number of 100 guests on a Saturday Night.
