Impressworks, offers a contemporary letterpress product using traditional tools and methods for customers across Australia. Our Gold Coast business places a strong emphasis on nurturing the letterpress print experience for designers and artisans through quality material, craftsmanship and simplicity.


Letterpress is a 500-year-old print-form surging in popularity due to its rich, tactile results and unique physical print ‘impression’. Impressworks has carefully refurbished a 1963 Heidelberg Windmill Platen Press and a 1918 Chandler & Price Platen Press and is using the timeless machinery to produce quality, handcrafted prints featuring detailed, indented impressions.


Our presses are operated by Emma McKimmie, a Bachelor of Design graduate with an eye for fine detail and quality. McKimmie is Australia’s only letterpress printing apprentice and a visionary at bringing on-screen designs to print.

Today a growing number of designers and creative agencies are being drawn back to the handcrafted, tactile nature of traditional letterpress printing. For Impressworks customers, receiving a beautifully finished, unique printed invitation, featuring an indented impression on a warm cotton stock is a highly valued and exciting experience.
