Depending on what the bride has in mind and if there are particular colour palates to follow , this will by all means determine what sort of flowers to use during the summer season.
You should consider the theme of your wedding to help guide your floral selection. For instance, is it a beach wedding or is it in a garden or church?
Did you want a tropical feel or more of a formal affair? What colour are your bridesmaids wearing? These are questions you should ask yourself and relay to your florist and they will be able to offer some relevant suggestions.
Hi Katie
The best flowers to have depends on where you live mostly.
But the best flowers to have are exactly what you choose.
A good florist will be able to work with you on your choice and offer similar flowers that will hold on in the heat.
Thankyou
It is always best to have whats available and in season at that time, you 'll find the flowers looking fresher and brighter and lasting longer. noone likes droopy flowers especially in summer.
For summer I recomend long lasting flowers like roses, orchids, chrysanthemums, disbuds and so on. They won't wilt in the summer heat. If you are extra concerned then go for silk flowers.
Silk flowers would be a good plan for a summer wedding in Perth and they look so real and you can keep them. Frangipani also keep well if well prepared. Roses are also available and need to be prepared and kept cool.
My suggestion would be silk but it is your wedding and you have what is reasonable to stay fresh.

Dahlia are in full swing in summer, as are roses. Both are very popular for wedding bouquets.
White seasonal flowers like white roses and freesias.
