How can I guarantee the type of flowers I want will be available?

I'm really set on having my favourite flowers as part of the floral arrangements on my big day. How can I be sure they'll be available?

If you are really set on a favourite flower being available for your special day, I recommend to research their natural season and plan your wedding to fall within the middle of that time period. Some flowers are imported in from international sources out of season so be sure to ask your florist about this option. If your flower is in season at the time of your wedding, finalising your order and allowing your florist to place their orders 1month - 3weeks out also increases the chances of receiving flowers planned. My last advice is to be open to the possibility of a substitution. Flower availability is difficult for a florist to guarantee due to the changeable nature of flowers and the seasons, but they should be able to guarantee beautiful work in your style and colours and provide you with arrangements with a similar feel. You never know, if you're open to the possibility, you might just find a new favourite flower! :)

By all means we want to be able to source every flower the bride would like to have, depending on seasons and availability most times we can get what the bride wants. It is always advisable to have a back up plan as well.

Flowers are seasonal _ so unless they are in season that cannot be guaranteed_ you need to speak to your florist

You need to discuss your favorite flowers with your florist.

They will then let you know which ones are available at that time.

You need to find a florist that you like and trust. They should make you feel confident that they can sort things out if there is a hicup with flowers.

I always contact the bride a week before the wedding with an update on flowers and if there may be an issue.

I always have a few solutions that we can take so they are confident that I'll take care of everything and they will love their flowers.

You can be sure that your favourite blooms will be available if you are open to having artificial bridal bouquets. The quality of fake flowers is amazing now and they are always in season :)

We can discuss and work on the date of your wedding to see if they are available.

And if not we can offer similar alternatives for you to decide if you like them.

To us your day is the most important day of your life to look back on forever.

So therefore try to choose a few designs that you like and we can always work together to make it perfect.

Thankyou

It's most important to talk about your wedding flowers in detail and always having a plan b and c if flowers are not easily available or in season, there are always many substitutes, but as far as getting exactly what you want, flowers generally must be ordered in advance so our suppliers can source them.

There is no guarantee 100% that the flowers you want will be available. There are so many factors involved that will determine availability including the weather which changes every year. If you have your heart set on a certain flower and nothing else will do then silk is the best way to go. Certain types of flowers are not available all year, so your wedding date is another factor which will determine wether or not you can get them. There is always a beautiful substitute available though.

Hello Saascha,

If you have your heart set on a particular flower I would consider a second choice unless you decide to go with silk flowers which look so real these days.  Also as your wedding is in March, one of the hottest months to hold a wedding in Australia.  Best to have seasonal flowers as it can cost to import in fresh flowers.

To ensure you have your hearts desire in choice of flower I personally would go for silk flowers, the silk flowers I use are quality silks that you can select.

Hope this is food for thought.

Unfortunately nothing can be guaranteed. A lot of flowers are available all year round now due to flowers being imported from all over the world, but it would be best to speak to your florist and they can tell you when your favourite flowers are available.
