FAQ

Yes, we have mulitple options for both seated and cocktail receptions, including long or round tables as well as other bar style furniture and garden options. 

In addition we have various options for ceremony seating and signing tables.

Once you book your wedding at Al Ru Farm you will receive from us lots a helpful planning information, including our "Friends of the Farm list'.  In addition to the great suppliers included on there, you are welcome to bring in any others that you wish to work with for your wedding day.

Our hayshed is a fabulous option for winter or rainy day ceremonies.  With a beautiful outlook over the garden, full cover overhead and our large open fire burning as required it is a stunning and very memorable ceremony location.

Our team of wedding co-ordinators will work closely with you right up until you're ready to say I do.

We are available for planning appointments in the lead-up to the wedding and along with our catering team will help to guide you with planning  runsheets, floorplans and many other aspects of you day.

On the day, we will have the venue set according to the plans we have made together and will be available for any trouble shooting and to guide your other suppliers.  Once the catering team arrives we hand over to them, and you and your guests will be in their safe hands.

Yes, of course you can. Please let us know which part of your wedding day you would like to hold at AL RU Farm whether it be just the ceremony, or just the reception - otherwise both!

At the latest, two weeks before the day, the final numbers are due. If you add any numbers after the two weeks – that is fine. Within the 14 days before your wedding, any guests decide to drop out, you must still pay the full and initial amount.

We do not supply any of these but are happy to help you with the setup of them on the tables. Please ensure clear instructions and pictures are provided for our staff and place cards are in order of appearance on the tables.

Yes all decorative items are to be organized by you.

Yes if you have 100 or more ADULT guests and your wedding is on Friday or Sunday the 10% discount would be applied.

We have uploaded floor plans of our venues to OneDrive. Please download, and draw your seating plan onto these floor plans. Don’t stress, you can print and scan, or draw directly onto the file - whichever suits your skills best!

*This can be amended as late as one week prior to your event

**Please remember to tell us the position of any extra tables such as: cake table, guestbook and gifts-table; and/or any large props you may use such as a photo-booth, large floor lighting (large lettering ie. “Mr&Mrs”)

? We provide 48 white chairs free of charge

Our packages include 7 hours – from the start of the ceremony to guest departure. Extra time will have to be organized before the event itself, on the night the catering staff will ensure the run sheet is enforced.

That is correct, our staff will serve it out on PLATTERS for free.

Yes, of course you can - we recommend doing so in the barn

Round tables would be less space efficient, 100 would be the absolute maximum we could fit on round tables I the barn.

The Wood Slat Chairs are only an extra charge if you would like us to set them up – you are welcome to set them up yourselves at no cost. 48 White Lawn chairs are included in the price.

If the event is set to finish at 11.30 you would get them to arrive at 11.15 and leave at 11.30. Last drinks and music stopped (or put very low on the back ground) at 11.00.

We recommend organising a bus for your guests, otherwise Uber is recommended over Taxis for individuals

Yes correct, all staff is included for drinks unless you are having spirits in which case it would be $2.50 per head.

We are currently building a second toilet block which will be finished by August 2018. There will be a total of 8 toilet booths at that point of which 1 disabled access toilet.

Yes you are welcome to contact Tent Events for glamping tents – we allow this in a broad way however don’t book anything in before actually conferring with us about dates & timings + locations of the tents, vans and swags.

Ruth, Al and the whole team were amazing! They all helped make our day so special. Myself and the bridesmaids stayed the night before the wedding in both the international suite and the Australiana suite and both rooms are stunning! We loved the cherry tree and the fairy lights on the tree over the room. So magical! The venue is stunning all of our guests say it’s the best wedding they have been to. Thank you Al Ru Farm! We will be back to stay on our anniversary 💗

We had our wedding at the Al Ru Farm on the 19th of May 2023, it was one of the best days of my life. Having the outdoor ceremony with an indoor reception was perfect for an evening wedding. The team (led by Cara and Mardi) were so lovely and extremely helpful any time I emailed them they would respond quickly with whatever my request was. Guests are still talking about the venue, great service and incredible food so thank you to the Al Ru Farm team for making our wedding day truly wonderful. It was a perfect day!

We got married here 5.3.21 and I can NOT fault this venue! From the day we fell in love with this magical venue, to the day we got married, the team have been so helpful, accommodating and personable! Ruth has done an incredible job ensuring the gardens look picture perfect all year round, and on our special day the guests couldn’t believe how luscious and perfect the gardens looked. The butterflies were out, the flowers blossomed and the perfect amount of shaded and sun areas! I spent our wedding eve in the on site cottage before hand, which made for perfect “getting ready photos”. The staff also think of all the small things like delivering fresh warm bread in the morning and treating you like royalty every visit. Can not recommend this venue enough! I’ll definitely be booking accommodation on our first wedding anniversary, any excuse to go back!

My husband and I needed to organise our wedding around tentative dates due to his visa obligations. Al Ru were so accommodating and understanding of our situation which lessened an already stressful and unpredictable planning schedule. I never felt like I was burdening to staff with all my questions, and I was always promptly responded too. I mean, always! They were flexible, made suggestions when needed and made the planning as well as our wedding day so easy and fun. The venue itself is stunning, and we absolutely loved our day. How many guests qualify as a small wedding?

We qualify small weddings anywhere between 30 and 50.

Will venue's charge extra for having more than one type of ceremony?

We will have two types of marriage ceremony

We do not charge for that, however if different areas have to be set up and timings are far apart you might incur in some extra charges.

Are there any things that aren't allowed in most venues?

Like, I know most you can't have confetti.. and some no glitter. But is there anything else I should be wary of?

You will find most Garden Venues do not allow any type of Sprinkle - we allow real flower petals but nothing else. Glitter is also a big NO for most venues whether inside or out.
