OVERVIEW

A modern Celebrant with a relaxed, flexible attitude ensuring your day is how you pictured it!

With over eight years experience and having officiated around 200 weddings I'm still constantly excited about the individual approach of each bride and groom to make their wedding unique and memorable.

My aim as a celebrant is to compliment your day, to fit into your plans, while still covering all the legal requirements of this momentous day, but I love watching all the work that has gone into the planning unfold.

I love to meet with couples in the early stages of your wedding planning and quite often find myself lost in time as we talk about everything from your story to everyday topics. I get to meet so many lovely, funny, incredible and inspiring people, I can't help but get caught up in each story.

The process of a wedding can be as simple or as intricate as you wish. Its your day! I welcome couples to speak with me before making a booking and am happy to try and meet with those who prefer to do things in person. If I happen to be the right choice for you day, I'm thrilled that I get to play a part!

I come with a smile and I leave with a big warm gushy heart.

Such a great wedding party to work with! All brides look amazing but you took it to another level, It was hard to tell if it was sweat or tears coming out of Rhys, but Im fairly sure it was both!

I'm looking into booking a celebrant, but I don't understand the difference between ceremony types?

Some provide a "full personalised" ceremony, and others a basic package, what's the biggest difference there? I thought all ceremonies had to be pretty much the same, ie: "Do you ___ take ___ to be your lawfully wedded wife". Please explain how there's such a big difference in price and services? :)

Marisa Wilson Marriage Celebrant Barossa

There are a couple of legal elements that all civil celebrants must cover in a ceremony, minsters are similar with a minor difference I believe, but other than that a celebrant can personalise your ceremony, and make it as long/short, personal/generic as you the couple want. I hope that helps.

I have an issue with someone posting pics of us before we do on social media...

How do we make it known to our guests?

Marisa Wilson Marriage Celebrant Barossa

Couple of things you can do, If you are super serious I guess can you can pop something on your invites but otherwise ask your celebrant to make an announcement to guests prior to your arrival at the wedding, or some sort of 'pretty' sign at the entrance of the wedding. Some people set up some sort of # where if they use that tag it goes to your own page and you get to choose the ones that go live. Im no techy but I think thats how it works ;)

Bridesmaid drama!

I have a lot of female first cousins that I'm very close to but one in particular that I've chosen to be in my bridal party (along with my two sisters). I know my cousins and aunts will be upset that they/their daughters weren't chosen and I'm worried about hurting people's feelings. I'm announcing the bridesmaids at my engagement party. Do you have any advice?

Mmm, tough situation, I agree with Paul, its your wedding and it possibly wasn't an easy decision, maybe announcing it in front of everyone isn't the way to go if you feel like some of them will be instantly dissapointed or annoyed...perhaps you need to speak with the ones you couldn't have before publicly announcing it?
