Celebrated Moments

Once you have chosen your wedding date and locked in your venue, you should book your Celebrant.

On average a wedding ceremony takes around 20 - 30 minutes, however this varies depending on ceremony elements such as family involvement, readings etc.

There is no requirement for you to write your own vows, however if you wish to say a personal vow, I can share with you a selection of vows that you can use or provide guidance to write them from scratch.

• In Australia you must be over 18 to get married, not related (in a way that makes it an invalid marriage), not already married to each other or someone else, and are totally consenting to the marriage.
• A Notice of Intended Marriage must be lodged with your Celebrant a minimum of one month prior to the date of your wedding. This is valid for eighteen months.
• You need two witnesses who are eighteen years of age or over to be present at the ceremony. They can be anyone. Randoms are fine!
• Documents required when lodging a Notice of Intended Marriage:

o   Original Birth Certificate or Passport. Passports can be expired but not cancelled.

o   Divorce or Death Certificate. If you are divorced or widowed you must provide proof of how your previous marriage ended.

NB: All documents in a foreign language must be translated into English by an approved translator.
